The Burullus region, located in the Northern part of the Egypt delta, is an active commercial and administrative hub. It is one of the five protectorate lakes of Egypt which accommodates both a recreational summer resort and a poorer all year residence. The lake has faced, across time, several changes in respect to the surrounding cities, which in turn impacted dramatically the shore. The changes that happened to the land use and land footprint have changed the shoreline, and will, eventually, lead to many environmental and urban problems as well. Many actions should be taken when thinking about future extensions of cities that have natural edges like Lake Burullus and huge agricultural lands, the aforementioned challenges will face existing communities, as well as, extend with respect to the surrounding areas leading consequently to the change of the identity of the area at large. This paper focuses on the importance of urban development and urban solutions of the cities surrounding Lake Burullus as well as the shoreline protection and implementation policies to optimize deterioration of shoreline, taking into consideration the importance of rural regeneration and its impact on this area. It also highlights a list of actions for successful lake upgrading steps based on the experiences reviewed and concludes that the success of the development of shoreline depends on several factors and that metropolitan planning should cover problems across urban and peri-urban areas and address multijurisdictional issues.

It explores the development process of a unique and famous waterfront area, analyses the effects of water as a planning element in urban area to give a perspective on the waterfront development. Gamasa as a case study missed this concept of using the waterfront for development although has a long waterfront in the Mediterranean Sea. It is absence of any obstacles (social conflict, land ownership, etc.) in the design/development process. It is used the mode categories of urban waterfront transformation as a tool for conservation, redevelopment and development. These led Gamasa to be a highly potential area as a significant area to be engaged in planning and development agencies. The output of planning solutions leads to increase in amusement parks which are directly associated with the sea and the variety of activities in these parks contribute greatly to the attractiveness to the site. And give a perspective on the waterfront development and discusses the principles of successful waterfront developments to be a guideline for Gamasa city waterfront developments.

This boom has an instantaneous impact on the microclimate and for this reason on human comfort, as a result negatively affecting international climate and power consumption degrees. Urban design selections together with road geometry and orientation, sidewalk widths, shading structures, materials, landscaping, building heights and air drift are key elements for pedestrian thermal comfort. This evaluation covers the built environment's moderation components impact at the weather, with the purpose for optimizing the thermal comfort degree in out of doors urban area. The literature covers using simulation equipment to be expecting out of doors environmental situations with specific knowledge on Envi-met as a simulation device for comparing outside thermal comfort. Sooner or later, the paper expects to spotlight the microclimatic enhancement approaches, and the usage of simulation as a device in the field of urban layout. The paper focuses on the importance of air temperature, relative humidity, air motion, and suggests radiant temperature in city canyons in addition to in open public spaces for the sake of human thermal comfort. As at the micro-scale, an old historical district south Kom Al Shoqafah by Al Mahmoudiyah Canal in Alexandria has been studied. The consequences deliver some initial proof of the wonderful urban microclimate with the aid of the use of simulation strategies that may influence the city area design and the planning procedure. This study proved that the microclimatic conditions in a critical historic region are in a near relationship among human consolation and urban design. The study is for evaluating the opportunity of changing the microclimate through distinct design parameters that have strongly impact the microclimate.

Determination of Residents’ Attitudes toward Supporting the Heritage Sites Using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) in Mansoura Culture Palace, Egypt, 2022

Improving the performance of the population to support heritage sites is one of the most importan... more Improving the performance of the population to support heritage sites is one of
the most important contemporary issues. This research aims to discover the
relationships and correlations between the impact of the heritage site on the local
population, participation in decision-making, and their negative or positive
attitude towards the sites. Which eventually influences whether they are in favour
of the heritage site's survival, development, or destruction. For the elements of
population support and the development of the Mansoura Culture Palace site in
Egypt, the study employed a theoretical model. A questionnaire was conducted,
and structural equation modeling (SEM) had checked for the validity of the
relationships. The correlation discovered between the elements of the model that
included dimensions: (population satisfaction with the way of dealing with
heritage sites, their sense of place, the involvement of community members in
the decision-making action, and between the two variables of the positive or
negative attitude of the population, as well as support the heritage site. To
determine the degree to which theoretical models of measurement match with
field data and to achieve actual development to support heritage sites through
the local community, the methodology had been clarified and its statistical
indicators had been presented using the CFA, SPSS, and AMOS software. The
paper concluded that the residents' support for the survival of the heritage site
and its development was positively affected by the residents' positive attitudes
toward heritage sites, and vice versa. Population satisfaction and sense of place
had an impact on both positive and negative attitudes, but only involvement had
an impact on positive sentiments. These findings may serve as a catalyst for the
sustainable development of heritage sites.
