Tetsuo Takahashi (高橋 鉄男, Takahashi Tetsuo) is a main character in Demi-chan wa Kataritai.

Appearance[]

Tetsuo is a tall man with a large build. He has black hair with some beard on his chin.

He is often seen wearing a lab coat with a red shirt and black slacks.

Personality[]

A Biology teacher by profession, he holds an innate interest in demi-humans for their unique existence. Despite his curiosities regarding demi-humans, his gentle nature lead him to value their struggles and bonds in adapting to human society over anything else as time goes by.

Several demi-humans have taken interest in him as he does not display the more apparent reactions that most humans give when presented with demi-humans' unique physiology; or at the very least, he forces himself to hide his fear, lust, and other primal instincts for the sake of prioritizing these demi-humans' well-being.

A welcoming face, stocky build, and kind heart made him quite the reliable father figure to many that knows him well.

History[]

Tetsuo attended the Musashino University of Science [1].

Relationships[]

Hikari Takanashi[]

Tetsuo and Hikari are on good terms, Tetsuo does try to keep her in line due to her mischievous nature, but sadly nobody can tame her. He always tries to remind her to address him properly but she continues to call him Teach. Tetsuo is also fascinated by her Vampiric Nature and tries to get information. He has also asked her whether the true myths about Vampires are true, which he found out that most of them are fake. He has also asked Hikari about drinking blood and he found out that Vampires drink out of a sexual urge more than feeding and Hikari told him that she had never drank a males blood directly as it is similar to a kiss or sex.

Kyouko Machi[]

Machi is a student with a school-girl like crush on him. He has a guardian or mentor like relationship with her and he tries to help her learn more about the limits of her 'powers'. Tetsuo also tries to coddle her as she wishes to be treated so, so he pampers her when she needs it, it can get awkward as Kyoko has a large chest and her chest presses against Tetsuo and this cases them both to get flustered

Yuki Kusakabe[]

Tetsuo helped Yuki realize her demi nature as a snow woman posed no harm to others. Tetsuo also did his best to protect her from bullying, as due to her frigid nature and fear of her abilities, she distanced herself from others, this made some girls think that she was stuck up and started to bad mouth her, Tetsuo found Yuki outside his office crying from the bullying so he embraced her and noticed that her tears were freezing. After he resolved her bullying issue thanks to Hikari, Tetsuo put in extra effort to try and understand Yuki more, Yuki told him about her finding Ice in her hot bath, Tetsuo asked her about her bathing which at first Yuki thought he was creeping on her, but he elaborated about what shampoo soaps and what temperature she had the water at, He then got a basin of hot water and made Yuki put her feet in it and then had her read Snow women stories this made her sad which caused Ice to appear in the basin, Tetsuo then deduced that Yuki's sweat freezes when she is sad or nervous elaborating that it was a literal cold sweat. Tetsuo and Yuki then became really close and he started calling her Yuki.

Sakie Satou[]

Tetsuo treats Saki like anybody else (as he represses his normal reactions to her aphrodisiac effect) to make her feel more comfortable (since she is always jumpy about being around men.) He tends to feel uncomfortable when Saki is around (but doesn't show it). After getting to know her, Tetsuo ends up returning her feelings unknowingly; both are falling in love with the other. He ends up confessing to her later on, and as of chapter 80, they started going out. Since they are now romantically involved, Tetsuo can let out his affection for Saki in modest amounts; lessening the strain on his willpower.

His reactions to coming into contact with her vary. Just a brief hand holding can cause him to hyperventilate; an embrace put so much strain on him that he nearly passed out.

Ugaki[]

They met when Ugaki was checking up on Saki. They two get along on a professional level.

Etymology[]

• The name Tetsuo means "iron" (鉄) (tetsu) and "male, man" (男) (o).
  • His nickname "Iron Man" comes from a pun based on his first name and this nickname is likely reinforced by the fact that he is built like a tank.
• Tetsuo's surname Takahashi means "tall, high" (高) (taka) and "bridge" (橋) (hashi).

Trivia[]

• Because of his help with Hikari, Machi and Yuki, other demi students ask him for help at the School. Tetsuo is even ready to do research to help. Plus as Saki is also still working at the school, there's another semi around to help make things more comfortable to talk about.
• Tetsuo has a thing for housewives in aprons, having fantasized about Sakie welcoming home while she wore one. Pretty modest and innocent, just what you'd expect from him.
