DR SKETCHY' S ANTI-ART SCHOOL
www.lannies.com
The most exciting thing to EVER happen to life drawing is coming to Denver!! Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School started in Brooklyn, spread to LA, Austin, Melbourne and Scotland and on February 26th, 2007 Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret (16th and Arapahoe) will be welcoming its own branch of what has been described as, "What happens when cabaret meets art-school."
Following the guidance of founder Molly Crabapple, Denver host Vivienne VaVoom of Burlesque As It Was will bring in burlesque dancers, roller derby girls, fetish models, drag queens and lots of other fascinating subjects for her "students". Fabulous prizes will be awarded for the winners of wacky drawing contests, and the class is open to artists of all skills (in fact, artists are encouraged to bring their friends who can’t draw, who will be provided with coloring book pages and crayons)
All dry mediums are okay, as are dip pens and neat watercolor sets. No oil paints, messy mediums or stinky mediums. Photographers are welcome as long as they do not use flash and are respectful of the other artists and do not block anyone’s view. Tables can be reserved in advance otherwise seating is first come, first serve.
Lannie’s full bar and kitchen will be open, and anyone is welcome to attend, with or without art supplies.
"Dr. Sketchy's will cure you of every boring art class you've ever been to."
