Discrimination between women and men in society is a deep-rooted social problem that arises as a ... more Discrimination between women and men in society is a deep-rooted social problem that arises as a result of gender-based prejudices and stereotyped roles. This discrimination prevents women and men from having equal opportunities in social, economic and political spheres and forces both sexes to act within certain stereotypes. Women often find it difficult to reach top positions in the world of work and are forced to take on a greater share of responsibilities such as housework and childcare. Women may be paid less than men for the same work. This is recognised as gender pay discrimination. Women have less access to opportunities for promotion to management positions than men. This is known as the glass ceiling effect. Discrimination against women is also visible in TV series. Women are exposed to various forms of discrimination in the labour world. Women may be paid less than men doing the same job. This is defined as gender-based wage discrimination. Women have less access to opportunities for promotion to management positions than men. This is known as the glass ceiling effect. Discrimination against women is also a visible subject in TV series. The majority of TV series broadcasts can affect individuals in society, resulting in specific behavioural changes. TV programmes also reflect socially accepted norms depicted on screen. This study aims to analyze "Glass Ceilings", a television series, by scrutinizing its scenes and the dialogue spoken by its main characters to understand women's position in society and working life. The working life experiences of Leyla, the main female protagonist in the television series, were examined. Content analysis was applied in the research. The analysis in this study focuses on the eight-episode series that premiered on 9th June 2021. Among the themes that emerged in the analysis are; metaphors, symbols, cynicism, hypocrisy, stereotypes, individualism, patriarchy, inequality, and mobbing. The research has provided insights into the challenges experienced by women.

This study aims to determine the relationship between School Climate, Organizational Commitment a... more This study aims to determine the relationship between School Climate, Organizational Commitment and Educational Bureaucracy (coercive & enabling) to examine it according to some variables. In the study, relational survey model, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The data were collected from a total of 280 teachers working in public primary and secondary schools in Gebze during the 2022-2023 academic year. Statistical analysis of the data was carried out with SPSS 26.0. ANOVA and t-tests were applied to the items to test the effect of dependent variables. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test statistics were applied and it was found that the answers given by the participants showed homogeneous distribution (p>0.05). Skewness and Kurtosis values were evaluated to obtain normal distribution values. Bu çalışmada, İngilizce öğretmenlerinin uzaktan eğitime ilişkin görüşlerini belirleyerek “uzaktan... more Bu çalışmada, İngilizce öğretmenlerinin uzaktan eğitime ilişkin görüşlerini belirleyerek “uzaktan eğitim süreci” ile ilgili önerilerde bulunmak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmaya 2020-2021 eğitim-öğretim yılında Mardin ili sınırları içerisinde bulunan resmî eğitim kurumlarında (ilkokul, ortaokul, lise) görev yapan 439 kadrolu İngilizce öğretmeninden 228’i katılmıştır. Nicel yöntemle yapılan bu araştırmanın verilerinin istatistiksel çözümlenmesi, SPSS 22.00 programı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bağımlı değişkenlerin etkisini test etmek amacıyla maddelere ANOVA ve t tesi uygulanmıştır. Kolmogorov-Smirnova test istatistikleri uygulanmış ve sonuçlarda katılımcıların verdikleri cevapların homojen dağılım gösterdiği görülmüştür (p>0.05). Ayrıca verilerin incelenmesinde LSD (Least Significant Difference) testi uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada Cronbach Alpha değeri; 0,905 çıkmıştır. The World Health Organization (WHO) defined the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as an infectious d... more The World Health Organization (WHO) defined the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered virus, and as a result of increasing cases, countries switched to distance education. Turkey had also been affected by the epidemic and had switched to compulsory distance education. This study aimed to make suggestions about "distance education " by considering "evaluation of English teachers' views on the distance education process. . In the study, the opinions of 80 teachers were taken with semi-structured interview forms to collect the qualitative data. Interview forms were created using the maximum variation sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods. According to the results of the research, teachers encountered different problems such as planning and participation, especially infrastructure and technical problems in the distance education process. Teachers also used different strategies such as preparation, effective and entertaining sharing, communication and using technology to keep up with the process, increase students' success and their motivation. It was concluded that teachers did not find the distance education system effective and efficient.

Computer-assisted language learning (CALL) is one of the developing approaches that can assist to... more Computer-assisted language learning (CALL) is one of the developing approaches that can assist to improve the language skills (reading, writing, listening) of students in English as a foreign language (EFL). CALL has been used to teach EFL learners through language drills or skills practice to stimulate discussion and interaction, or as a tool to improve writing and research. This study aims to point out the effects of DynEd on attitudes and language skills in EFL of middle school students in Turkey. The study contributes to the area of EFL learning and fosters students' perceptions of EFL. The sample of this study, which utilized an ex-post facto design, recruited 136 middle school students as participants. According to the results, it can be said that, in addition to the conventional teaching environment, the use of DynEd significantly improved both the language skills and attitudes of the students in EFL. However, DynEd did not make any difference in students' attitudes towards EFL according to grade level and gender. Moreover, students using DynEd have expressed positive views about DynEd.
