Develop on Google Workspace

Google Workspace offers a wide range of developer products and tools that let you connect your service with Google Workspace or extend Google Workspace apps like Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Chat. Each Google Workspace app or integration has its own Google Cloud project where you configure APIs, set up authentication, and manage deployments.

In the Google Cloud console, theGoogle Workspace API Overviewshows many common Google Workspace API tasks that you can complete elsewhere in the Google Cloud console. The Google Workspace APIs are gathered all in one place so that you can conveniently manage these APIs.

5 steps to get started

  1. Create a Google Cloud project for your Google Workspace app, extension, or integration.
  2. Enable the APIs you want to usein your Google Cloud project.
  3. Learn how authentication and authorization workswhen developing for Google Workspace.
  4. Configure OAuth consent to ensure users can understand and approve what access your app has to their data.
  5. Create access credentials to authenticate your app's end users or service accounts.
