Notebook and other non traditional sketches | [12 Dec 2009|08:31am] |
---|---|
** Notebook sketches needed!! **Hi everyone. I know a couple weeks ago I was the one asking for submissions for another project for college, though that one's currently been dropped due to a low amount of submissions (the topic was admittingly strange). I was wondering though, if anyone had any non traditional surface sketches for this new gallery idea? By that I mean notebook, sticky note, hey even your shoe sketches, basically anything drawn on non traditional surfaces, or surfaces other than artbook or art paper. Perhaps you doodled it at work, or at school, or at a meeting. People often come up with intersting, unfinished (sometimes finished) ideas due to the monotony of listening to someone talk. Notebook sketches are intimate, and it's fun seeing what is created in an every day environment.Any submissions please sent to vividarchetype@gmail.com. Please submit them no later than Tuesday, December the 15th. I know I'm cutting it close, so any submissions will be much appreciated!! And the more submissions the merrier! My gallery should be up by December the 16th (when my project is due). I will post it here for everyone to see. Thanks again! | |

Hi All,I recently joined this community and thought I should post my first artwork here.***First_Spring_PreviewIt is summer time in New Zealand. The first sign of spring is always ice melting as the air gets warmer.Painted from scratch in Photoshop using my new wacom Bamboo tablet. I'm just a beginner and this is only my second digital painting. It was initially a rough sketch done to practice skintones and hair (which I'm not entirely satisfied with!). Later, I went ahead and added the background and other elements. There are too many mistakes which I didn't notice until too late. Your critiques/comments are welcome.( First SpringCollapse ) | |

A few months ago I finally bought a tablet and began practicing drawing and coloring on this site: http://www.iscribble.net/I'm not sure if my drawings will be welcomed since it's done on a site rather than photoshop or painter but I would be grateful if you would take the time to view my recent works. :]Thank you for viewing. :D | |

A question! | [08 Nov 2006|11:24am] |

Hello everyone; new member here. :) I thought I'd start out with tossing out a question for the experienced digital people to chew on!I'm thinking about buying a new computer and planning to get Painter 9 to go with it, but I'm not sure how strong and fast I need the computer to be for the program to work well. Are there any computer whizzos around that have any tips on processor speeds and memory sizes and those things for me? With my current computer I've never been able to use the watercolour brushes in Painter, since they take forever to first simply register on the canvas and then dry if I make them very large. Ideally, the new computer would be able to handle them. (We're talking canvas sizes of 2000+ pixels here, so the brushes get pretty big.)Sorry for going all technical on you folks. :) | |

hey everyone,I'm trying to learn how to draw 'digitally'. I can somewhat draw on paper ;) But I've never been able to make the jump from paper to computer. I even have a little wacom tablet. I know you all started somewhere... are there any noob/basic tutorials that go step-by-step? Really detailed would be nice.Thought I'd ask, since most of you show such nice 'doodles' ;) | |
