I'm leaving this post unlocked, because I hope a few other people see this than just my flist. Maybe we all need a reality check on a few things.I feel that the purpose of this place is for several things. One, to have somewhere to blow off steam. God know I use it for that alot. And I appreciate those that take the time to bother reading it. without this release, I'd have blown a gasket along time ago. We all need somewhere to get the pain and anger out. Two, somewhere to share our perving over whatever our particular obsession is. Be it through pictures, writing, gossiping, whatever. Gives us a common bond with others of like mind. And it's fun. We need more fun and enjoyment in our lives. Three, the companionship and friendships we've made. I can truly say that I have made some very good friends here. Most will never be more than online, but a few are real life friends now, because of the sharing we started online through here, and followed through into real life. Those ladies are very much a part of my life and I love them dearly.But with all the nice things I can say, I can also say that there is a dark side to all this. When we get flamed for our writing, which hurts terribly. Because that's a part of us we chose to share, and we are now ridiculed for our talents. When someone calls names, which happens more often than we like to think. For whatever reason, or in whatever manner. Being mean, and viscous, and poking fun, it;s just childish and uncalled for. And it hurts. Alot.I got an e-amil a bit ago, as I'm sure several others reading this did, from a nice lady. She's been an online friend for awhile. She funny, she's thoughtful, she's talented. She's also no longer a part of this world. She let us all know that she was deleting her regular, and fic journals and going away. And she has. And it is our loss. And because she couldn't handle the backstabbing and nastiness that was being directed at her. It breaks my heart to see her gone. This place will not be the same without her.So, I guess what I'm saying is, I love you guys, I consider you to be friends. But then again, I try to be an optimist about things. But also, before you say something that might be hurtful, or rude, or nasty-think. Is it really something you want directed back at you? Would YOU want to hear it said to or about you? Probably not. Maybe some of us are thin skinned, or maybe it's that you are just too hard and can't consider others feelings as well. But please, let's all try to be nicer to each other.
