pyRevitLoader Error Message (original) (raw)
Hi, all.
I just downloaded and installed the latest pyRevit v5.0.1. For some reason, it opens just fine in Revit 2025, but it gives me the following UnauthorizeAccessException error:
Would anyone be able to tell me why that error is there? I can’t use pyRevit on versions older than 2025 now…
Thanks in advance,
Edgar
Hey @EBSoares, Did you use the admin installer or a single user installer?

Thanks, @Jean-Marc and @InkRF_WasTooShort.
I did indeed install the admin version, after installing the normal one and getting a similar message:
With the normal install the issue was the same - works fine in Revit 2025, but gives that error message on other older versions.
Thanks in advance again,
Edgar

The unauthorized access issue seems to be related to something external.
Would you mind filing an issue in GitHub and provide the full listing of data required from the issue template

Thanks, @Jean-Marc.
There was indeed an issue with a new antivirus software our company started using a few weeks ago, where it wasn’t even allowing me to install pyRevit at first. I think that, even though it eventually let me install pyRevit, the antivirus might have still blocked something during the install, or is currently blocking something now. Our technology leader in our office is currently looking at this issue from that perspective. I’ll post the findings here once we have something and, if needed, will go through the GitHub process you mentioned.
Cheers,
