February 11, 2026, 6:39pm 1
We’ve done it again, we’ve caught up and now support pip v26.0!
pip-tools v7.5.3 (full release notes) is a bugfix release. Highlights:
- added Python 3.14(t) testing/support
- dropped Python 3.8
- fixed bugs with
pip-compilelosing certain options in the output (header comments) - fixed a bug which lead to temp files not being cleaned up when reading from stdin
And we have some internal restructuring to make it easier for us to keep pace with pip changes!

We did have a release CI bug which made us push the GitHub release twice. Sorry to anyone watching the project who got confusing notifications!
As with every release,
to everyone who stopped by to report issues, contribute changes, etc.
Update: I’ve written a small summary/retrospective post on this release.
