🌍 Exciting Times in Nairobi! 🌍 Over the past 10 days, I had the privilege of participating in the Ag and Food Tech Innovation Basecamp and the Africa AgTech Scale Summit, organised by the Delta40 Venture Studio Team. The quality and insights from these events were beyond my expectations! At the Basecamp, we received invaluable training from experts who shared both their successes and lessons learned from challenges. This practical knowledge is crucial for driving successful business ventures. The Africa AgTech Scale Summit was a highlight, fostering an incredible ecosystem of entrepreneurs, investors, corporates, and leaders. I had numerous meaningful conversations that I never imagined possible in such a short time. I was honoured to be a panellist on the Innovation in Ag and Food Tech panel, discussing how SymbioMatch biosolutions can be tailored to African markets through local partnerships. Additionally, pitching SymbioMatch and winning a funding prize was a significant milestone. This funding will enable us to start building the necessary partnerships in Africa. What truly melted my heart was that even among so many talented, hardworking, clever, and innovative entrepreneur fellows with great solutions, SymbioMatch was awarded the Innovation Award! This recognition affirmed that people not only believe in our solution but also are keen to collaborate with us to bring our biosolutions to African farmers. A huge shout out to the SymbioMatch team - Carlos Rolando Fernandez Pulido, Ugnė Sabaitytė, Diego Garcia de la Morena, and Francesca Tedeschi for their hard work back in Denmark, ensuring everything ran smoothly in Stig Uggerhøj Andersen ’s and my absence. Now, it’s time to head home, organise, plan, and build these strategic partnerships. Looking forward to returning to Africa soon to start making an impact! I can’t believe how lucky I am to be part of the Delta40 Venture Studio AgTech Innovation Basecamp 🌱 and to spend 10 amazing days in Nairobi! 🎉 I came here with the belief that by partnering with regional producers, stakeholders, and farmers, we can introduce our innovative AgTech Biosolutions to new markets. But I am more than amazed by the quality of this event! The workshops have been incredibly insightful, covering everything from industry trends to capital structure and fundraising. Matchmaking between spinouts and investors: At the Nordic Innovation Fair 2024, 20 cases from Aarhus Universitet are looking for their next investment 💡💰 The Nordic Innovation Fair will take place on 23.-24. September in Industriens Hus, Copenhagen, with more than 100 strong commercialisation projects from Denmark and our Nordic neighbours – the vast majority are future or founded spin-outs seeking investments. 20 of the participating spin-outs come from Aarhus University, of which 15 are within the life science area. The remaining cases come from the Greentech & Food and Quantum Tech & Digital areas. Six of the 20 AU spin-outs will be pitching on stage, including Kripthonite Therapeutics, Ardos, SymbioMatch and Aortic Phlex.
