About Us

The Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies’ Public Affairs Office provides public and internal information, as well as media and community relations support, for DKI APCSS. Available Resources include fact sheets, and the latest edition of the Center’s biannual publication, the Currents magazine.

Members of the DKI APCSS staff and faculty are recognized experts in their fields; therefore, they are often sought out by media outlets for their views.

The Public Affairs Office welcomes the opportunity to host interviews with our subject matter experts at the Center; however, interviews must be scheduled by contacting the Chief of Public Affairs at (808) 971-8916 or at pao@apcss.org.

The Public Affairs Office is open from 8 am to 5 pm, M-F.

News media interested in covering DKI APCSS events should note that there is a policy of non-attribution for course, guest speaker and workshop coverage. Click here to learn more about our policy of non-attribution.

Fostering good relations with the news media and providing for a free flow of public information is vital to the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center’s programs and to our workshop partners, speakers and presenters and to our participants as well. We work with our event partners to ensure we jointly support good relations with the media and make relevant information available to the public while preserving the Center’s policy of non-attribution in conference sessions.
