Do Me, Captain Jack Sparrow (original) (raw)

I bought the Master Replica Limited Edition Jack's Compass, and I am filled with joy! (Although my bank account is less filled than when I left the house this morning.)
I was passing a comic book store that I've been to several times. I glanced at the POTC display in the window - and I stop dead at the sight of the Master Replica compass and Jack's flintlock! I press my nose against the glass, staring at it in awe. I've seen them online, of course, and I've admired the compass, but it never really seemed within my reach and so I didn't think about it much. But there it was, with only a pane of glass separating me and it!
After a good five minutes of ogling, I slowly continued on my way. "It's too expensive and you don't need it," I told myself. I was actually mumbling aloud, probably causing passersby to think me deranged. "You can't afford it, you don't really need it... but I want it! I gotta have it! It's just so cool! And it's a limited edition, there are only 2500 in the world! No, it just costs too much, I won't be able to buy food and I'll starve..." This internal war continued for several blocks.
Needless to say, eventually I turned around, went back to the store, opened my wallet and pulled out that trusty piece of plastic... I figure that if I start bringing a sack lunch, instead of buying food on campus or at a café, I'll "pay it off" in two and a half months!
I'm so happy, though. So happy. I'm practically beaming. :D
"I know what I want, I know what I want..."
Okay, now that I've shown it off a bit, there is one thing I'm disappointed about. The needle of the compass doesn't spin very well - you have to shake it and move it around, and only then does it reluctantly turn. It would've been nice for them to have put some magnets in it or something to make it spin randomly. (Is that even possible?) That's probably a bit too much to expect!
(Crossposted like whoa, so forgive me if you've seen it already.)
