Abstract

A simple mendelian model, with two alleles at an autosomal locus, is suggested for the inheritance of the two colour phenotypes of _Cichlasoma nigrofasciatum_-the dominant (wild type) allele causes a dark grey colouration, while the recessive phenotype is pink.
