Wind tunnel testing of structures-bridges, chimney, tall towers and buildings, antennas—is routinely done to prevent wind induced structural failures of the type described below by Kármán. Many such failues are due to resonances caused by shedding of Kármán vortices.Jaywant H Arakeri
