An Analytical Study on the Interdeparture-Time Distribution for Different Multimedia Source Models in a Packet Switched Network (original) (raw)
Abstract
In this paper we studied the interdeparture time distribution of multimedia RTP traffic mixed to disturbing background traffic across a single router. Both periodic and On-Off binary Markov sources have been considered. An analytical approach for the calculation of this interdeparture time distribution has been developed. Results of these studies are the basis for estimating distribution of the interdeparture jitter in a chain of routers.
