Lewontin, R. C. The Genetic Basis of Evolutionary Change (Columbia Univ. Press, New York, 1974). Lewontin's treatment of the fundamental outstanding issues in evolutionary genetics is often more relevant today than it was 25 years ago. Particularly in his lament about the lack of a genotype-to-phenotype map, only now can we envisage providing the experimental data that will fill the gap raised in this classic book. Google Scholar
