This paper describes the effects of a neutralizing antibody to PlGF on tumour angiogenesis in various models and showed that, unlike VEGF inhibitors, this antibody did not induce tumour hypoxia but rather infiltration by pro-angiogenic macrophages. It also enhanced the effect of various chemotherapy agents in vivo.
