Abstract

We have measured with high precision (about 1' 2') the celestial positions of four X-ray sources (GX3+t, GX5- 1, GX9+t, GXt7+2) in the Sagittarius region. The experiment was performed with two independent rocket-borne rotating modulation collimators backed with proportional-counter detectors sensitive in the energy range 1.5-8 keV. High-precision aspect data were obtained by star photography which was directly referenced to the collimator grids.
