Abstract

In the article are addressed issues concerning the appointment and removal of the President of National Bank of Poland. This is a question for the body, which in terms of III stage of integration into the Economic and Monetary Union will play a crucial role. In addition, the President of the NBP is this body that, under the law is part of integrating the various bodies and authorities and entities operating on the wider financial market. Therefore, it is appropriate to take the considerations in this regard. Analysis of the Polish regulations contained in the Constitution and the law on NBP made in the article indicates the far-reaching problems not only with unintelligible, but indeed imperfect regulations relating to the appointment and removal of the President of the NBP. Selected and discussed issues to illustrate the need for revision of the statutory regulations so as to ensure the implementation of this function by the person with the highest competence and experience. In the article have been made to formulate proposals de lege lata and de lege ferenda, showing that the continuation of these provisions can lead to significant problems of interpretation.
