Deviantart's Core discount is so frequent, it's very possibly fictitious pricing. Also, it will extend through Halloween. I don't know why they bothered pretending it won't.

Deviantart has been advertising a new pay-to-win scheme recently, "Boosted Deviations". People can pay to have their deviations show up higher in the feed, pushing non-paying people down in the list. This will, of course, be primarily used by AI uploaders to get ahead of real artists. If you have an ad blocker like uBlock Origin, you can avoid seeing these boosted deviations by going to Settings >> My Filters and adding theis code to your custom filters: www.deviantart.com##.\_1gpTF > div > div > div > div:not(._28607):has(._2jaIR ._20Nv2+._1fLXF) I got this code from a comment on their announcement article. If enough people do this, the Boost feature may end up having the opposite effect and they will be forced to remove it. Make no mistake: The chances of that happening are extremely low, but it also doesn't cost that much work to you either. Why not tell a few friends about it?

This is a followup to April's Journal, where I determined that AI's fate had been sealed. Things have only gotten worse since then. As usual, when I say "AI" I'm speaking about the current generation of LLMs and generative neural networks. Financial disaster Since my last journal, I discovered that AI was not just unprofitable, it was a complete cash incinerator. OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT and face of the entire AI industry, is on the path to reporting a net loss of up to 5 billion dollars. They have recently secured a total of over 11 billion dollars of additional investor funding. I can't wait to watch that money burn as well. Stability AI, the creators of Stable Diffusion (the most popular AI image generator), has been losing a lot of money too. In the first quarter of this year, they made 5 million dollars in revenue and lost 30 million dollars. The numbers were reported a month after the company laid off staff and the company's former CEO resigned. I can't imagine it got much

Dont we all miss flash animations.

You can still play them today. You just need to download the Flash Player.

Speaking of Flash Player. Have you heard of Ruffle?

Yes, it's running on my website right now.

Bro. I'm not OC. You may want to back up your words.
I'm Very Anti-AI.

So you want to give up on people that are still trying huh?

I wasn't paying attention. I thought only the uploader would want to oppose me. You're not on his side, are you? You accused me of not giving up in the first comment and are accusing me giving up in the second one. Which one of these is the bad option?

The people running this website are corrupt beyond saving. They're greedy AI fans. They made this clear in last year's journal: Dreamup and Our AI-Art....

"It would be impossible – and, in our opinion, wrong – for DeviantArt to try to block or censor this technology."

They're never turning back.

The website is primarily funded by AI bot networks. As I wrote in a recent journal, AI is already dead. When the AI bubble pops and these bots give up, Deviantart will run out of money and Wix will either shut it down or sell it. Nothing we do will change that.

If you want to fix this, your best bet is to accelerate the process. With any luck, they'll sell it to a good company. I write comments on unlabeled AI images so that they'll block me. The comments also help warn people who were unaware of the AI. I have also been filing reports against accounts selling unlabeled AI images.

Why abolish your gallery though?
