With the widespread use of mobile technologies, the importance of cybersecurity is increasing in ... more With the widespread use of mobile technologies, the importance of cybersecurity is increasing in our country as well as all over the world. Android operating system-based smartphones and tablets used in mobile technologies are frequently in use for communication, social networking, banking, and payment transactions and become an important part of developing technology. Although the Android operating system is among the most popular operating systems, one of the biggest challenges faced by android users and developers is to ensure the security of the operating system. In this research, the security mechanism was examined with the android operating system architecture, and the exploitation of android vulnerabilities scenarios was created. These scenarios were carried out on various examples using the Smart Pentester Framework (SPF) tool. Also, by examining the sources in the literature, exploitations of android vulnerabilities are classified into categories. Based on the created classification and the exploitation methods scenarios taking place in the virtual environment built on Kali Linux, it is aimed to raise awareness of android operating system users and developers against possible risks.

Optimization methods are used to solve many problems and, under certain constraints, can provide ... more Optimization methods are used to solve many problems and, under certain constraints, can provide the best possible results. They are inspired by the behavior of living things in nature and called metaheuristic algorithms. The population-based tree-seed algorithm (TSA) is an example of these algorithms and is used to solve continuous optimization problems that have recently emerged. This method, inspired by the relationship between trees and seeds, produces a certain number of seeds for each tree during each iteration. In this study, during seed formation in the TSA, trees were selected using the tournament selection method rather than by random means. Efforts were also made to enhance high-dimensional solutions, utilizing problem dimensions, D, of 20, 50, 100 and 1000 by optimizing the search tendency parameter within the structure of the algorithm, resulting in a modified TSA (MTSA). Empirical test data, convergence graphs and box plots were obtained by applying the MTSA to numerical benchmark functions. In addition, the results of the current algorithms in the literature were compared with the MTSA and the statistical test results were presented. The results from this analysis demonstrated that the MTSA could achieve superior results to the original TSA.

Nowadays, the use of Information Technologies in almost every field, especially in the field of e... more Nowadays, the use of Information Technologies in almost every field, especially in the field of education is increasing rapidly and gaining importance day by day. Within the scope of educational technologies in the field of education, studies are carried out for the functional use of information technologies. One of these study types is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) interdisciplinary education approach. It is seen that the subjects in the structure and content of the science course will be applied with STEM interdisciplinary education approach in a way to handle the subjects of different disciplines when the literature is searched. In this study, it is aimed to realize an instructional design and application to gain science lesson target acquisition with STEM interdisciplinary education approach. The target acquisition for this purpose was selected as 'Its will be able to explain the factors which affect the growth and the development in plants and animals'. Within the scope of this acquisition, students were provided to produce the arduino based experiment set themselves, and their process and results were evaluated. In this context, the sample of study was chosen by random sample selection method with 36 students who are taking science lesson at 7th grade, 18 experimental group and 18 control group. Coding and Arduino training was given to the experimental group and they were asked to produce experimental set themselves. The effects of teaching of application towards the achievement goal were evaluated in terms of academic achievement by using pretest and posttest. As a result of study, it was seen that the experimental group of students were more successful in terms of academic achievement, achievement target disscused in the research.

Insects are a class of the arthropod branch and the most crowded animal group in terms of species... more Insects are a class of the arthropod branch and the most crowded animal group in terms of species and taxonomy. Due to destruction and forest fires, some insect species could go extinct without being detected. Identifying new insects and having knowledge about insects in terms of biodiversity will contribute positively to the studies carried out, especially in entomology, agriculture, the pharmaceutical industry, medicine, robotics, and other branches. In this study, we produced a mobile-based decision support software with a deep learning model to classify and detect insects at the order level. We also presented the comparative analysis results of SSD MobileNET, YoloV4, and Faster R-CNN InceptionV3 deep learning methods and adapting processes for order-level insect classification. Our approach studies the suitability of existing models towards such an objective, and we conclude that Faster R-CNN InceptionV3 performs the best at classifying and detecting insects at the order level. In addition, we shared 25820 training and 1500 test data in the kaggle database in order to contribute studies to be carried out in this area. As a result, we believe that this research will be beneficial to entomologists, naturalists, and other researchers in related fields. It can be defined as a technology protocol that enables data sharing with reliable transactions s... more It can be defined as a technology protocol that enables data sharing with reliable transactions such as identification and authorization over a decentralized-distributed network without the need for approval or control of a central authority. At the basis of the block chain, as the name suggests, there is a working system for chain reaction. This technology, which is defined as block chains in Turkish, is based on interconnecting an encrypted data like chain links and connecting it in unchangeable blocks in an objective and dynamic order in a static internal access. The effects of the use of block chain in the field of health are expected to be seen more effectively in the future, as it has begun to be seen today. It can be considered as the proof of this situation that it will be used actively and effectively according to the blockchain statistics in the health system. It is one of the most promising blockchain usage areas to date, thanks to the principle of sharing healthcare services with efficient and secure data processing. Accordingly, access to healthcare services will not be a problem with the use of many protocols between doctor and patient with the shortest and least cost. In this study, the development, features and effects of blockchain technologies and studies on blockchain in health will be presented. A compilation study has been conducted on the areas where blockchain applications can be applied in the health system and their effects on the health system, and blockchain applications and sample blockchain models are presented.

Al... more Energy plays an important role in every stage of human life in different forms and variations. Along with the developments in economic, social and industrial fields, the amount of energy that countries need is increasing day by day. Therefore, it is significant to estimate the energy demand for a country's economic activities accurately. In this study, the energy demand forecast (EDF) application optimization problem of Turkey, one of the real-world optimization problems, was performed by MTSA (Modified Tree Seed Algorithm) and TSA (Tree Seed Algorithm) methods. From 1979 to 2005, gross domestic product (GDP), population, export and import values were used as parameter data. Thus, in the presence of three different possible scenarios, Turkey's energy demand from 2006 to 2025, which was estimated by MTSA and TSA methods. To demonstrate the success of MTSA and TSA in the problem of energy demand forecasting (EDF), they are compared with Ant Colony Algorithm (ACO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Bat Algorithm (BA), Differential Evolution Algorithm (DEA) and Artificial Algae Algorithm (AAA) methods which are in the literature. According to the results of the analysis, it was observed that the MTSA method was a successful estimation tool for energy demand.

In this study, a test device has been developed that can be used to test various vehicle cables a... more In this study, a test device has been developed that can be used to test various vehicle cables and cable harnesses in the au tomotive sector. The test device can make basic measurements such as conductivity, short circuit, voltage, resistance, capacity, and specific measurements such as diodes and active relays among the number of test points varying between 128-1024. It performs the programmed tests step by step by processing the Test Source Code (*.tkk) files prepared with the designed Interface Program, loaded from the SD memory card in the device. The tester system consists of a selection of test source codes to be run and a general-purpose USB barcode reader, a general-purpose barcode printer, external LED units, an Optional External Unit (OHB) that offer a larger screen and various features if desired, and monitor. The OHB unit can be a Raspberry PI based mini-computer that can be mounted inside or outside the device, or any Windows based computer or Industrial computer can be used if desired. The test device realized has been operated stably with all its functions and has been successfully tested.

The aim of this study is to present a model proposal on determining the student participation rat... more The aim of this study is to present a model proposal on determining the student participation rate in synchronous courses given in Learning Management Systems (LMS). Especially in situations where equal opportunities cannot be provided or opportunities are limited, distance education provides benefits for learning anytime and anywhere (ubiquitous learning) with the support of educational technologies. When the literature is examined, thanks to distance education; It is seen that it offers a very advantageous teaching environment in terms of location, time, convenience in accessing the resources needed and cost-benefit. However, when the literature is analyzed, it is found that there is a problem in determining the participation levels and rates of students in the Learning Management Systems used in distance education. Students access the activity or course in LMS using text-based user information and passwords. Unfortunately, it is not possible to determine with the current LMS whether the participant is the real responsible person or he/she is actively/synchronously following the course. In this context, a design model has been presented using face recognition algorithms to determine attendance in distance education, to ensure more active participation and to increase success indirectly. In the proposed model, tests were made using special filters for image processing, and in cases where the number of samples was increased, more than 80% accuracy was provided. The proposed design model was developed in Visual Studio.Net platform and coded on C# programming language. SQL server is used as database management system and EmguCV library is used for the image processing stages.

By making raw data in the field of education meaningful using data mining techniques, teaching activities can be made more effective and efficient. Studies carried out in the field of education between 2014-2020 with data mining methods were scanned from the "Science Direct" database. As a result of scanning studies, 60 papers were found to be directly related to data mining in education. The studies include issues such as the development of e-learning systems, pedagogical support, clustering of educational data, and student performance predictions. These selected articles were analyzed in terms of purpose, application area, method, and contribution to the literature. This study aims to group the studies conducted in the field of education using the data mining method under certain headings, evaluate the methods and goals and present the need in this field to the researchers who will work in this field.

Learning from imbalanced data sets is an important problem frequently encountered in the applicat... more Learning from imbalanced data sets is an important problem frequently encountered in the application of classification problems. Instances of this type of problem is usually labeled with the label of class majority and minority class instances will be ignored. In this study, an ensemble based method is proposed for problems of imbalanced data set. The results obtained were compared to alternative traditional classifier (support vector machine (svm) and k nearest neighbor classifier (knn)). Bagging -based ensemble classifier eliminates the problem of bias. Thus minority class are classified correctly and improving the application performance is provided.

The effects of teaching of application towards the achievement goal were evaluated in terms of academic achievement by using pretest and posttest. As a result of study, it was seen that the experimental group of students were more successful in terms of academic achievement, achievement target disscused in the research.

Al... more Energy plays an important role in every stage of human life in different forms and variations. Along with the developments in economic, social and industrial fields, the amount of energy that countries need is increasing day by day. Therefore, it is significant to estimate the energy demand for a country's economic activities accurately. In this study, the energy demand forecast (EDF) application optimization problem of Turkey, one of the real-world optimization problems, was performed by MTSA (Modified Tree Seed Algorithm) and TSA (Tree Seed Algorithm) methods. From 1979 to 2005, gross domestic product (GDP), population, export and import values were used as parameter data. Thus, in the presence of three different possible scenarios, Turkey's energy demand from 2006 to 2025, which was estimated by MTSA and TSA methods. To demonstrate the success of MTSA and TSA in the problem of energy demand forecasting (EDF), they are compared with Ant Colony Algorithm (ACO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Bat Algorithm (BA), Differential Evolution Algorithm (DEA) and Artificial Algae Algorithm (AAA) methods which are in the literature. According to the results of the analysis, it was observed that the MTSA method was a successful estimation tool for energy demand.

Optimization methods are used to solve many problems and, under certain constraints, can provide ... more Optimization methods are used to solve many problems and, under certain constraints, can provide the best possible results. They are inspired by the behavior of living things in nature and called metaheuristic algorithms. The population-based tree-seed algorithm (TSA) is an example of these algorithms and is used to solve continuous optimization problems that have recently emerged. This method, inspired by the relationship between trees and seeds, produces a certain number of seeds for each tree during each iteration. In this study, during seed formation in the TSA, trees were selected using the tournament selection method rather than by random means. Efforts were also made to enhance high-dimensional solutions, utilizing problem dimensions, D, of 20, 50, 100 and 1000 by optimizing the search tendency parameter within the structure of the algorithm, resulting in a modified TSA (MTSA). Empirical test data, convergence graphs and box plots were obtained by applying the MTSA to numerical benchmark functions. In addition, the results of the current algorithms in the literature were compared with the MTSA and the statistical test results were presented. The results from this analysis demonstrated that the MTSA could achieve superior results to the original TSA.

The test device can make basic measurements such as conductivity, short circuit, voltage, resistance, capacity, and specific measurements such as diodes and active relays among the number of test points varying between 128-1024. It performs the programmed tests step by step by processing the Test Source Code (*.tkk) files prepared with the designed Interface Program, loaded from the SD memory card in the device. The tester system consists of a selection of test source codes to be run and a general-purpose USB barcode reader, a general-purpose barcode printer, external LED units, an Optional External Unit (OHB) that offer a larger screen and various features if desired, and monitor. The OHB unit can be a Raspberry PI based mini-computer that can be mounted inside or outside the device, or any Windows based computer or Industrial computer can be used if desired. The test device realized has been operated stably with all its functions and has been successfully tested.

Android operating system-based smartphones and tablets used in mobile technologies are frequently in use for communication, social networking, banking, and payment transactions and become an important part of developing technology. Although the Android operating system is among the most popular operating systems, one of the biggest challenges faced by android users and developers is to ensure the security of the operating system. In this research, the security mechanism was examined with the android operating system architecture, and the exploitation of android vulnerabilities scenarios was created. These scenarios were carried out on various examples using the Smart Pentester Framework (SPF) tool. Also, by examining the sources in the literature, exploitations of android vulnerabilities are classified into categories. Based on the created classification and the exploitation methods scenarios taking place in the virtual environment built on Kali Linux, it is aimed to raise awareness of android operating system users and developers against possible risks.

The aim of this study is to present a model proposal on determining the student participation rat... more The aim of this study is to present a model proposal on determining the student participation rate in synchronous courses given in Learning Management Systems (LMS). Especially in situations where equal opportunities cannot be provided or opportunities are limited, distance education provides benefits for learning anytime and anywhere (ubiquitous learning) with the support of educational technologies. When the literature is examined, thanks to distance education; It is seen that it offers a very advantageous teaching environment in terms of location, time, convenience in accessing the resources needed and cost-benefit. However, when the literature is analyzed, it is found that there is a problem in determining the participation levels and rates of students in the Learning Management Systems used in distance education. Students access the activity or course in LMS using text-based user information and passwords. Unfortunately, it is not possible to determine with the current LMS whether the participant is the real responsible person or he/she is actively/synchronously following the course. In this context, a design model has been presented using face recognition algorithms to determine attendance in distance education, to ensure more active participation and to increase success indirectly. In the proposed model, tests were made using special filters for image processing, and in cases where the number of samples was increased, more than 80% accuracy was provided. The proposed design model was developed in Visual Studio.Net platform and coded on C# programming language. SQL server is used as database management system and EmguCV library is used for the image processing stages.

Studies carried out in the field of education between 2014-2020 with data mining methods were scanned from the "Science Direct" database. As a result of scanning studies, 60 papers were found to be directly related to data mining in education. The studies include issues such as the development of e-learning systems, pedagogical support, clustering of educational data, and student performance predictions. These selected articles were analyzed in terms of purpose, application area, method, and contribution to the literature. This study aims to group the studies conducted in the field of education using the data mining method under certain headings, evaluate the methods and goals and present the need in this field to the researchers who will work in this field.

Due to destruction and forest fires, some insect species could go extinct without being detected. Identifying new insects and having knowledge about insects in terms of biodiversity will contribute positively to the studies carried out, especially in entomology, agriculture, the pharmaceutical industry, medicine, robotics, and other branches. In this study, we produced a mobile-based decision support software with a deep learning model to classify and detect insects at the order level. We also presented the comparative analysis results of SSD MobileNET, YoloV4, and Faster R-CNN InceptionV3 deep learning methods and adapting processes for order-level insect classification. Our approach studies the suitability of existing models towards such an objective, and we conclude that Faster R-CNN InceptionV3 performs the best at classifying and detecting insects at the order level. In addition, we shared 25820 training and 1500 test data in the kaggle database in order to contribute studies to be carried out in this area. As a result, we believe that this research will be beneficial to entomologists, naturalists, and other researchers in related fields. Instances of this type of problem is usually labeled with the label of class majority and minority class instances will be ignored. In this study, an ensemble based method is proposed for problems of imbalanced data set. The results obtained were compared to alternative traditional classifier (support vector machine (svm) and k nearest neighbor classifier (knn)). Bagging -based ensemble classifier eliminates the problem of bias. Thus minority class are classified correctly and improving the application performance is provided.
