The Sorting Hat Songs
Founders' Entry in HP Lexicon
Founders' Entry in Wikipedia** This one is by far the most informative so far.

____

*I only have a few points I disagree with in some of the extrapolated sources; the Lexicon and Wikipedia. If the Sorting Hat Song is anything to go by, being the only truly Canon Source, Helga was the least discriminatory of all the Founders, willing to teach even those Godric rejected.

*Salazar being at fault for the fight that sent him packing. This I disagree with to a point. According to the Sorting Hat Song, they all turned on each other, and he was the first one to say "Screw you all" and pack his bags.

One could argue that the supposed reason for his keeping a basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets was gilded and invented by 1000 years of legend. Though there was likely some grain of truth somewhere.

Where I get almost a large amount of historical/political BG info from to outline Act I

Wooh... That was tough. : P

I'll be posting the rough outline for Act I shortly. If anyone's here by then, feel free to comment, add, critique.

Welcome to Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus!

Welcome, and congratulations for making it into these hallowed halls. Of course I only say that because, true to my persona, I am a bit of a bookish perfectionist. Really, I truly am grateful to have all of you here. Even though it will probably be a very long time before any of you are actually here to read this message.

: )

Go me.

A funny thing I've noticed about this particular journal style, despite how much I love the visual of it, it seems you must but a < br > tag in if you want spaces to display on the entries view page. : P

Moving on. The story will begin once I, and indeed the rest of you feel comfortable enough in our plans and filled characters to do so. This game will largely have no time restrictions or activity requirements. This is due to a number of circumstances. They are in no particular order:

1.) We are a very small minority in the fandom. I have yet to find an active Founders' RPG anywhere, good or bad.

2.) This ensures we can take our time in mulling over and crafting certain scenes/events to be just the way we want them.

3.) Last but not least, who here has every actually managed to finish a game to a natural and unforced conclusion when there were weekly posting requirements?

That being said, of course we're not going to go the other extreme either, and wait a month or two for one person to post so the rest of us can move on. These things will be dealt with if and when they come up.

For now, I'm going to be charging everyone with the task of whatever research they feel like they can help doing. Compiling a playable/appliable character list, general background exposition, etc. Not to mention inter-player discussions and planning.

Well, have fun. ^_^

Preferred Owl/Letter/Log Posting Format

When sending an Owl, or a letter to any character, please use LJ-cuts. They should be formatted like so, removing the *'s and spaces:

<*lj-cut text="Owl/Letter to X"> Text <*/lj-cut>

___________________________________________________

As for posting AIM logs, or beginning Comment Threads, please post in BOLD at the top the date/general place in the storyline. Livejournal unfortunately does not allow backdating to the year 980. List featured characters, a brief, few line summary, and a general rating.

Example:

April 20th, 980

Where: Court of Athelred II
Who: Rowena Ravenclaw, Lady Maeve, Archbishop of Canterbury
What: After the Council's recess for the day, Rowena and Maeve engage in bitter debate with the Archbishop.
Rating: PG - Gratuitous invoking of Deities.
