The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the indications of balloon assistance and establish its comprehensive utilities. METHODS: A total of 68 patients with Ruptured intracranial aneurysms treated with endovascular coiling using balloon were retrospectively evaluated. Various indications of Balloon ination were evaluated such as to prevent coil prolapse, negotiating tortuous bends at ICA bifurcation and hemostasis in the event of intraprocedure rupture. Immediate and delayed complications associated with balloon use were also studied. RESULTS: Balloon ination was done in 45/68 patients. In 36 (52%) patients it was used for assistance in coiling, in 03 (4%) patients it was inated after rupture of the aneurysm, in 04 (5.8%) patients it was inated to help the wire and microcatheter to enter A1 segment of Anterior cerebral artery due to acute angulation at ICA bifurcation....

The risk of cholangiocarcinoma remains high where an internal drainage procedure has been performed and the cyst has been partially resected or left unresected. We report a case of cholangiocarcinoma occurring in an unresected choledochal cyst following a drainage procedure in infancy and highlight the role of PET/CT in its diagnosis.

Color Doppler ultrasound showed a high-flow arterio-venous fistula with feeders from branches of the left internal iliac artery. Selective arteriography of the left internal pudendal artery demonstrated an arterio-venous fistula. A curved-tip 2.3 French microcatheter (Terumo Medical Corporation, Tokyo, Japan) was advanced proximal to the fistula over a 0.014″ flexible guidewire. The fistula was then embolized with 2 platinum 18-2-2 Hilal Embolization Microcoils (Cook, Bloomington, Indiana). Improvement was noted, with closure of the fistula at check angiography and significant detumescence on table. This was later confirmed on repeat color Doppler imaging. At follow-up 6 and 12 weeks later, he had normal erectile function. Transarterial embolization appears to be a safe and effective treatment for managing patients with high-flow priapism.
