In response to the call for research on the topic, this study examines the relationship between ambidexterity-which includes exploitative and exploratory strategies-and innovation performance. The study finds that the relationship is mediated by founding-team marketing capabilities and moderated by managerial autonomy. This model is empirically tested using 165 new ventures in the UAE. The findings suggest that an exploratory strategy improves the founding team's marketing capabilities, whereas an exploitative strategy worsens these capabilities. Exploitative strategy and the founding team's marketing abilities are negatively affected by managerial autonomy. However, managerial autonomy has no significant impact on either exploratory strategy or the founding team's marketing capabilities. The findings also show that the founding team's marketing skills mediate the relationship between exploratory strategy-but not exploitative strategy-and innovation performance.

Despite this increasing adoption, academic research on the use of drone videos for product advertising is scarce. Particularly lacking is evidence of the efficacy of drone video ads in eliciting favorable viewer responses. This study seeks to fill this gap in the literature by developing a model in which exposure to a drone video ad enhances viewers' perceived presence and perceived novelty of the drone video ad. In turn, viewers' perceived presence and perceived novelty of the drone video ad are hypothesized to contribute to a favorable attitude toward the brand and greater intention to share the drone video ad on social media through a favorable attitude toward the drone video ad. To test the proposed model, a sample of viewers were directed to watch a drone video ad and answered questions about the drone video ad, the advertised brand, and their intention to share the drone video ad on social media. The findings contribute to the literature by documenting the effectiveness of drone video ads in eliciting favorable viewer responses and elucidating the theoretical mechanisms by which these responses are elicited.

We propose alignment between cohesive learning from failure and the intrinsic motivation to reemerge after failure. The study contends that failure is not considered an ultimate demise but as a precursor to new birth. Interviews with eight firms that faced withdrawal from international markets demonstrate the importance of failure as rivaling that of success and as cultivating self-efficacy. We conclude that learning from failure enhances the perceived ability to reemerge in international markets, and entrepreneurs recommit themselves to businesses with new perspectives.

We propose alignment between cohesive learning from failure and the intrinsic motivation to re-emerge after failure and contend that failure is not considered an ultimate demise but as a precursor to new birth. Interviews with eight firms that faced withdrawal from international markets during the COVID-19 pandemic between 2019 and 2022 demonstrate the importance of failure as rivaling that of success and as cultivating self-efficacy. We conclude that learning from failure enhances the perceived ability to reemerge in international markets, and entrepreneurs recommit themselves to businesses with new perspectives.

Significant debates have proliferated about the significance, domains and types of governance and their implications for democracy and development, particularly in developing countries. Amidst the debates on the relationship between governance and development, political settlements analysis has become quite prominent that focuses on the implications of political settlement for reforming and enforcing institutions leading towards negative/positive economic development. A framework of cooperative relationship development in technological contexts is constructed based on interdependency of different technologies on each other, technological capability of the suppliers and external environmental factors, to support the theoretical understanding about buyer and supplier relationship dynamics. INTRODUCTION Every firm has certain objectives behind a relationship and the firms cooperate because they have reciprocal dependencies (Håkansson, 1987). This reciprocal dependency between firms creates leverage for the firms to each other’s competencies. The reciprocal dependencies could be gaining access to new markets and technologies, getting know-how and skills of the resources outside the firm. In high technology...

Building on social exchange theory (SET) and transaction cost theory (TCT), we develop an integrated framework in which trust development requires two sets of antecedents: (1) social antecedents (prior alliance experience with partner, partner's cultural sensitivity and reputation, inter-partner communication, expected longevity of the IJVs), and (2) structural antecedents (interdependence, ownership share, resource complementary). The developed framework is tested using web-survey data collected from 89 IJVs established by Nordic firms in Asia, Europe and America. Empirical data analysis based on structural equation modelling suggests that a partner's cultural sensitivity and reputation, inter-partner communication, and expected longevity are the social antecedents from SET that enhance trust. From TCA, the structural antecedent of resource complementary develops trust, while balanced interdependence and balanced ownership are unrelated to trust. These findings have important implications for managers planning to form and manage IJVs.
