Danger: UXB OK, I know this community has been pretty much moribund since I joined it, but just in case there are still people interested, this article was in the news today:

WW2 Flying bomb Found in London

Of course the V1 rockets came at a time period after Danger:UXB! took place, but still interesting.

Finished a Danger UXB tale. It's slash, warnings and all can be found on the page. This is unbeta'ed, and any and all feedback is appreciated so I can improve it before I post it anywhere else.

It can be found here.

Looking for a beta for a fanfic. It's slash, and the pairing is James/Ash. Any takers?

I'm going to be making the Danger UXB fanlisting in the next month. Anyone have anything in particular they'd like to see there?

I'm collecting pix, and will be making a fansite as well. Got some great 8x10s off ebay. Any info, and content, would be appreciated!

This is stoopid--old news to many, I'm sure. But I didn't know and I'm bummed. Jeremy Sinden is dead. And has been for quite some time.

Bye bye, Ivor...

Ah well... About what I expected.

Found a great book the other day. Called _Love is Blue_ by Joan Wyndham. Story of a WAAF in the '40s.

She has adventures that would put the boys to shame. Falls in love about every other page, drinks like a fish, and generally has a better time than anyone has a right to have. I'm just glad Ash met Susan instead of her. Ivor might be doing more than just waking him up in the mess if he had.

Very useful as far as the fic writer goes for getting the feel of the time.

Regionless DVD ecstasy is now ours. The DUXB DVDs arrived today, and the upgrade to the player went perfectly. The only thing we can't do is tape the DVDs. Probably need a PAL VCR to do that. So it goes. Next thing is to move the computer so we can see if we can connect the two and do screencaps. In this living room, that is going to be a challenge.

The extras on the DVD are old training vids and wartime info films. The gallery is likewise vintage 1940s stuff. The promised interviews are not there. Can't say I'm crushed, the vintage stuff is too cool, and I expect they're going to have footage from the 70's to stick on this thing? There might well be extra scenes stuck in, but we won't know that till we see the whole series through again.

The extra bonus as far as I'm concerned is that we can buy any European DVDs we want!

Cool, we are three! Pull up a chair, go easy on the sugar, and we'll see how long the tea holds out...

I admit openly at this point I'm jonesing. No one to talk about this show with except my SO, who at least has had the decency to become as obsessed as I am. She pointed out Sgt. James's sterling qualities to me, as a matter of fact. Seems to me that that man's life was as interesting as Ash's, the more so because he kept it to himself. And then there's Ivor Rodgers. You really wonder what these guys got up to in their off time.

I first saw this show in the early 80s, when it was aired in the US. I didn't see it again till it was aired on public TV again last year. There was far too much story for a mere 13 episodes! Few of the characters besides Brian Ash had even a fraction of their story told.

So if you've stumbled across this place, what did you like about the show?
