La mayoria tiene su foco en el sector de Tecnologia de la Informacion. El presente estudio de caso establecio la relacion entre cultura y efectividad de la gestion de los proyectos en una compania del sector farmaceutico. Se adelanto una investigacion cuantitativa mediante la aplicacion de una encuesta a una muestra de 66 stakeholders de proyectos. Los datos fueron recolectados entre julio y noviembre de 2018. Los resultados evidenciaron que lideres e integrantes de equipo valoran el aporte de los proyectos al logro de la estrategia, aunque se requiere promover la adopcion de practicas para gestionar los proyectos y la participacion de los stakeholders . Aumentar el nivel de satisfaccion del equipo y mejorar el cumplimiento de cronogramas requieren atencion por su baja valoracion. Specific behaviors and attitudes shown by people participating in an organization's projects have... more Specific behaviors and attitudes shown by people participating in an organization's projects have contributed to their success and have constituted a subculture (Kendra & Taplin, 2004; Morrison, Brown & Smit, 2006; Stare, 2012). The relationship between culture and project effectiveness has been studied by individualizing some cultural traits or by using constructs that need to be complemented (Stare, 2012). With the purpose of constructing a model that groups these cultural aspects, the present investigation took the constructivism as epistemological reference and used like method of application, the constructivist grounded theory. It was based on the literature review and the constrastation between the theory and the reality of the projects, through questionnaires and interviews with project leaders, team members and project stakeholders in 82 organizations located in Bogota, Colombia, belonging to different sectors of the industry. Patterns of attitudes and behaviors were determined and allowed to design a conceptual model of four dimensions: governance, learning, relationship between stakeholders and organizational integration. The dimensions group eight categories and thirty two cultural variables. The study extends the theory in organizational culture and in project management. At the practical level, it provides a framework that helps organizations identify the cultural aspects that need to be improved to achieve more successful projects. Future research can be oriented to statistically validate the model and establish its relationship with indicators of project effectiveness.

The majority has its focus in the Information Technology sector. The objective of this case study was to determine the impact of organizational culture on the effectiveness of project management in a company of the pharmaceutical sector Quantitative research was carried out by applying a survey to a sample of 66 project stakeholders. The data was collected between July and November 2018. The results showed that leaders and team members value the contribution of the projects to the achievement of the strategy, although it is necessary to promote the adoption of practices to manage the projects and the participation of the stakeholders. Increasing the level of team satisfaction and improving compliance with schedules require attention due to their low valuation. It was established that the project management effectiveness depends on the understanding of the project environment and the adaptation of the stakeholders to solve the problems. The contribution of the present study is to expand the existing theory in the areas of organizational culture and project management. Future research can determine cultural variables in a sample of organizations of the pharmaceutical sector, that allows to characterize the project context in this industry. Project offices and human resources areas can use the proposed tool and diagnose cultural aspects which require improvement to optimize the results of projects in their organizations.

Los proyectos de desarrollo de software responden a requerimientos definidos en áreas de conocimi... more Los proyectos de desarrollo de software responden a requerimientos definidos en áreas de conocimiento multidisciplinario. Por este motivo, la gestión de este tipo de proyectos requiere que los integrantes del equipo adopten actitudes y comportamientos que les permita aprender de la experiencia compartida y adaptarse para solucionar los problemas que surgen con su ejecución. Si estas actitudes y comportamientos forman parte de la cultura organizacional, se pueden constituir en un factor de éxito de los proyectos (Fortune y White, 2006). No existe suficiente evidencia de esta relación. Por tanto, el objetivo de la presente investigación fue el de determinar el grado en que el aprendizaje organizacional incide en el éxito de los proyectos con la adaptación para la solución de los problemas como una variable mediadora. Se adelantó un estudio exploratorio en el que se utilizó una muestra aleatoria de 46 encuestados entre líderes e integrantes de equipo, pertenecientes a empresas desarrolladoras de software ubicadas en Bogotá, Colombia. Se evidenció que el éxito de los proyectos tiene una relación de dependencia con el aprendizaje organizacional y que la adaptación para la solución de problemas ejerce un efecto mediador. Futuros estudios pueden confirmar estos resultados en otros sectores de la industria.

This work seeks to establish the cultural effect of the values in the extent to which people adopt the project management practices in organizations. From the literature review, honesty, formalization, responsibility and justice were identified as values associated to behaviors that include the use of project management practices. A questionnaire was administered to a random sample of 55 companies located in Bogotá, Colombia, from various sectors of industry.
