The Maker's Diet (original) (raw)

10/19/04 11:26 pm - hinkypunk_ette - Introduction The Maker's Diet - a book written by Dr. Jordan Rubin, can change your life in 40 days. Most people who start this program, with all intentions of following it for just the 40 days, come to find that they feel so good that they continue to stick with it. Jordan briefly describes his own (almost fatal) battle with chronic Crohn's disease, the many doctors he had seen, drugs/remedies he had tried, and how he finally found his way back to excellent health. Every recommendation he sets forth is backed up by years of research and scientific evidence. Much of it is NOT discussed or presented in the mainstream media and/or medical profession because when people are healthy, big companies lose big money. In the book there are many testimonials from different people - some with serious health issues, some just not feeling great. They followed The Maker's Diet for 40 days and they explain how it has changed their lives. The Maker's Diet is not a weight loss plan, though for people who are overweight it does help to shed excess body fat; people who are underweight will find it helpful as well. The Maker's Diet is an eating plan to achieve and maintain good health. Processed foods are killing us and making us sick. Our bodies were not made to handle them. The Maker's Diet explains what we should eat, why we should eat it and even how to find it and prepare it. As people join the community, we can talk about the book, about our experiences eating these foods and maybe help each other find quality companies that sell the natural foods needed to maintain good health. I look forward to meeting people who are ready to take responsibility for their own health and not rely on toxic chemicals to cover every little symptom, but actually get to the root of their health issues. Our spiritual attitudes greatly affect our physical health so discussions of God, Creator, etc., are welcome as well. I would ask, however, that if you are offended by, or do not believe in a "Creator" Who is greater than ourselves and who we must answer to for our wrongs, that you do flame or belittle those who do, and the same for people who believe - please do not flame or belittle those who do not. Debates are always interesting, especially when proof can be cited, however, flaming is not allowed and will be deleted. Hopefully we can all achieve greater health together!Karen
