In the article there has been conducted an analysis of the communicative geographical and epistolary discursive area of A. Krymskyi at the times of his childhood and adolescence. These periods of his life we consider the decisive ones for his linguistic individualization and the definition of the parameters of a linguistic persona. The linguistic persona’s features were caused by the origin of A. Krymskyi (the Crimean Tartar roots, an intelligent family of a teacher of history and geography and a Polish Lithuanian noble woman), and his unique abilities (the boy learned to read at the age of 3 and a half, had a phenomenal memory, and an analytical brain). A great role was played by the multilingual and multicultural places of dwelling and studying, namely the following towns and cities: Volodymyr Volynskyi, Zvenyhorodka, O...

The techniques have been applied with success in a number of occasions at different skill levels to improve performance. NLP operates on the principle that human beings have the capacity to set and achieve their goals, and gives a framework in which these objectives can be attained. These principles have been observed in both a theoretical and practical way in relation to sports. In the first part of the article, we review the theoretical literature on the topic. From a theoretical standpoint, scholars have asserted that the perception of reality through the senses plays an important role, and this perception can be influenced by the language we use. Clear communication in teaching is vital for training athletes to reach their potential. In the second part, we look at applications of NLP in different spheres of sports and the way it is applied to real at...

It has been accentuated that all terms, fulfilling the applied function of the tools of cognition and means of fixing scientific and technological progress, are unified and fixed in the language. Based on this, the classification of terms has been done according to normativity – non-normativity. Grounding on the number of already existing definitions, we understand a terminological phrase as a semantically integral word combination of two and more words connected by prepositions, or asyndetically. The correlation concerning the morphological structure of terms demonstrates a clearly expressed tendency of derivation being used as the main way of word-building in the development of sports terminological...

The authors aimed to make theoretical generalizations and conclusions about the main subject of the research, to determine the types of emotional-intellectual relation of students to a foreign language in the classes of the higher educational institutions and to model the general methodological scheme on the basis of sociological and functional-semantic data. The used methods can be clearly divided into theoretical, sociological and modeling, which made it possible to demonstrate a new approach to the thematic presentation of didactic material on the example of the concept HAPPY and determine the degree of flexibility of students' emotional intelligence in foreign lang...

The psycholinguistic experiment, “Author Neologisms of Taras Shevchenko,” held in 2019 involved four hundred forty-eight participants aged 14 to 61 y.o. Among them were professors, graduate students, and students from Rivne State Humanitarian University, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Sarny Pedagogical College, National University of “Ostroh Academy”, Rivne Economic Technological College, National University of Water and Environmental Engineering, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, and M. Ocheret Zhytomyr City Humanitarian Gymnasium #23 (Ukraine). The responses of the recipients to the word-stimulus снігоквіт/snihokvit (“snow blossom”), Shevchenko’s neologism, have been characterized based on grammatical (paradigmatic, syntagmatic, word-building), meaningful (thematic, reminiscent, reactions-personalities), and formal connections. The following semanti...

Advertising has covered the way from informing a target audience to asking and convincing, from convincing to working out conventional reflexes, from working our traditional reflexes to the unconscious suggestion, and from the cold advice to the projection of a symbolic image. Advertisers have been consistent in making customers perceive a picture of a promoted product consciously and then make them buy it automatically.Advertising is so powerful that it can form and change the worldview and behaviour of people. That is why professionals in many spheres study and investigate the phenomenon of manipulative potentials of advertising. The term manipulation stands for the art of managing people's behaviour and thinking with afocused impact on the social consciousness, a type of psychological influence, a hidden inducement of people to perform...

The attention has been paid to the paradigms that were dominant in the 20th century – human-centrism, semantics-centrism and form-centrism; at the active development of new branches of linguistics – linguostylistics, psycholinguistics, ethnolinguistics, linguoculturology, linguofolkloristics, cognitive linguistics, gender linguistics, interlinguistics, medialinguistics and others. All that caused the necessity to review the approaches to the methods of linguistic researches. Such key notions as <em>methodology, method, </em>and <em>procedure</em> were specified. A <em>method</em> is interpreted as a system of rules and principles of approaches to the studies of certain phenomena of nature, society and thinking, as a way of organizing a theoretical and practical acquisition of the reality; a methodology is understood as a totality of interconne...

Computational linguistics tools are applied with the intention to create parallel translation corpus data and for statistical analysis of the data acquired. The limited evidence of practical application of linguostatistical methods in translation and Translation Studies makes the chosen topic up- to-date and novel. Prior results ventilate into how corpora may be involved in the pre study of author’s idiostyle. Thus, quantitative comparative analysis in translation best presents itself from the viewpoint of statistics on text structure (form) level.

As the means of creating advertisements are constantly changing our task is to analyze the structure and semantics of the advertisements of mineral water in the Ukrainian mass-media and business discourse. In the historical aspect, advertisement can be characterized as a targeted tool that is used by a manufacturer or a seller of a product in order to influence a consumer and raise the sale levels. It was pointed out that the main purpose of the advertisements is to attract the customers' attention, make them think and change their thoughts and/or behaviour. Due to the synchronic usage of different communicative modes and visual tools, modern printed advertisements are complex and multimodal, consisting of verbal and non-verbal elements. The application of verbal and non-verbal elements in an advertisement allows scholars to classify it as a multimodal text. Non-verbal elements are present in almost every printed advertisement. The following non-verbal means have been distinguished: images, pictures, schemes, logos, sketches, national symbols, fonts' types and sizes, colour choices, position, location, and design of a verbal text in an advertisement, etc. Visual images, typically, play a major role in the creation of the modern language consciousness, because a visual perception is universal and it is able to integrate and reintegrate any other systems of signals. Non-verbal means acquire a special importance, forming together with a verbal part the contextual and pragmatic meaning of the advertisement. Non-verbal means, correlating with the verbal elements, either intensify, or repeat and complete the meaning of the verbal messages. The variations of fonts (cursive, underlined, bold), sizes of letters, their capitalization and colouring help to make the texts bright, eye-catching, and memorable. In the analyzed examples, the majority of copywriters used the images of mountains and natural water to demonstrate the purity and freshness of their product. It was stated that as such advertisements were created to promote a very popular and essential product-mineral water, they are national, direct, lightly or medium segmented and commercial.
