It is considered that the new medium of expression is also one of the new, fundamentally revisionist ways. Virtual reality (VR) is used to enhance imagination and as a resource to address the complex technological problems that actually occur in the field of architecture. Thus, this paper presents a discussion on the role of virtual reality in the field of architecture. The paper focuses on how virtual reality can help architecture evolve. The research method adopted in this study is to collect information from secondary data of research journals and published articles, and further analyze the role and evolution of virtual reality in the architectural perspective. Nowadays, it is seen that virtual reality is becoming more of an architect's and a client's attention. In addition, it was found that VR improves the accuracy and sincerity of architectural communication in architectural design. During the development of architectural technology, computer-aided design (CAD) and virtual reality have been introduced as the main media of architectural visualization. Hence, it is concluded that VR has an important role in the field of building architecture and design.

As human, they feel the space through walking around cities and architectural creation, yet there are certain elements which direct their movement and discussions. Doors are everywhere in buildings, rooms, vehicles and aircrafts. They are used to block or allow access and act as a barrier between an internal space and the external world. This paper aims to define the hidden meaning of doors and what doors mean to the human; is it just a rectangular hole or more than that? Moreover, the objectives of this research are to highlight the factors of a door, reasons behind shaping the doors, and analysis the characteristics of doors in Saudi Arabia. A number of themes identified appeared to influence people perception about doors, the used materials in constructing a door, superstitions and door image.

However, identity of a place is a phenomenon that has been present for as long as man used physical and psychological elements to recognize places. Human's identification to a place presupposes that places have a unique character, that is, attributes which distinguish each place from any other. The relation between a human and space is not merely that of being able to orientate himself in his surroundings, but it also has a deeper process of identification, which was described by Norberg-Schulz as "to become 'friends' with a particular environment". In the twenty first century, the rapid emergence of contemporary played a major key role in the fluctuating of many place identities globally, some of which accepted and absorbed new identities, whereas others valued identities were lost. Typically, the physical environment's contribution to form the unique character of place dominates psychological elements. Thus, this research paper deals with architecture as a main drive for analyzing place identity. Particularly, the research aims at defining clear elements of emerging new identities through discussing the causes, process, and outturns of examples where identities evolved through architecture overtime.

Like many other cities worldwide, Jeddah contains significant areas that were established as unplanned settlements. According to the definition of the United Nations (UN) many of Jeddah's unplanned settlements have been classified as slums. However, some of these unplanned settlements have strategic location near the center of Jeddah, and present great potentials as a new urban quarter. Four distinctive areas were the subject of the upgrading studies conducted by Jeddah Municipality. These are Khozam district, Bani-Malik district, Al-Boghdadiyah District, and Al-Ruwais district. This study focuses on assessing the physical condition of the built environment of Al-Ruwais district as well as to investigate the common problems of the residents such as buildings problems, infrastructure problems, and social problems. Throughout history, technology has a significant impact on the development of architectural forms and structures. Nowadays, the progress of advanced technology began to reach an unprecedented level in the age of the internet and its related technologies. Since the appearance of the wireless connectivity, architecture, and urban design began to take another dimension in the design process to adopt the new technology and integrated it within its envelope. At the beginning of the 21st century, new approaches began to take place in the city, such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and, more recently, the 4G and 5G wireless technology. However, the effectiveness of these advanced technologies depends on both the wireless signal coverage and the deployment of their equipment. In this context, these technologies impose a new challenge for architects, urban designers, and the construction industry to embrace them within the concept of the smart city. This study focuses on the analysis of 5G technology and highlighting its advantages and disadvantages, which impact the visual appearance and aesthetics of both buildings and the city. The study also intends to explore the various possible solutions to overcome the predicament of the wireless signal coverage and the penetration of buildings. However, this research aims to define a set of recommendations for the construction industry to take further innovative steps towards achieving advanced building materials that can adopt the 5G technology.

They questioned the ability of tall buildings to adapt environmental issues as well as to provide a realistic answer to modern environmental problems. In the 21 st century, the phenomenon of building skyscrapers has been acknowledged by the majority of architects, planners, landscape architects as well as by societies. Today we are witnessing the emergence of new cities, towns, and villages, which consequently created new locations, cultures, economies, climates and purposes for which skyscrapers now may make logical sense. However, the architectural profession should be concerned of formulating new design criteria and principles appropriate for reinventing the skyscraper as something green, and environment-user friendly. This paper will explore ways of managing the embodied energy content of a skyscraper in order to both, enhance the social aspects of the building and control its impact on global resources. It also reviews the new generation of progressive green skyscrapers, recently completed or under construction, in order to explore how they embraced sustainability and green building strategies in their dynamic design.

The human needs and the environment represented the most essential factors to be considered in their designs. The traditional and vernacular architecture of this region introduced many realistic solutions and devices to the local environmental problems such as the Wind-catcher, which became a common architectural feature in buildings. The windcatcher is based on a traditional Persian architectural device, which was used to create natural ventilation in buildings. Since the energy crisis of the 1970s, the ecological or sustainable architecture movement dominated architect’s thoughts of realising buildings that are environmentally relevant to their regions. In recent decades, there has been an increasing awareness of these traditional environmental devices and their

This movement caused many of the assumptions underlying contemporary architecture to be questioned; and it produced experimental, ecologically motivated models. A review of traditional architecture elements would provide a realistic answer to modern environmental problems. An essential element of progress towards the goal of integrating traditional and modern approaches will depend on architects, who should consider the human needs, the environment, the natural forces and the use of low technology in their designs and view of a building as a process more than a product. This paper also examines the theoretical status of sustainability or what is referred to as “Green architecture”, and to identify the specific nature of this term, its use and its function in ...
