[ **mood** | ecstatic ] I got my acceptance letter to Emerson today. Is it sad that I'm already looking through all of the clubs I can join? When I visited the campus for the open house, I was in the Little Building and when I walked past one of the posting boards and saw this poster, for people to join the Buffy club - I freaked out, so I've actually been stalking this lj comm for a few months, afraid to post or join.Just looking through all of these posts, and everything in general. You all rock my socks!

Seminar: Deconstructing TV's Buffy [08 Dec 2004|02:12am]
Well now, I already posted a comment about the class on the main Emerson LJ community, but I'm hoping to get a little more info now, and figured posting here might help.I am a MassArt student looking extremely forward to taking "Seminar: Deconstructing TV's Buffy" at Emerson, although I only found out about the class about 2 weeks ago. I don't understand cross-registration, when I'm supposed to do it, etc. If you guys have any info on that it'd be great, but I guess I am wondering more about people who have taken the class. Is it popular? Is it interesting? What kind of assignments are there? Is it offered every semester? - because I may have to try for next fall. Any info would be great and I really do need responses so please tell me if you have info! And what's with this Buffy club at Emerson? LET ME COME maybe???

Serenity release postponed five months [23 Nov 2004|12:46pm]
Joss Whedon, writer and director of the upcoming SF movie Serenity, told the Whedonesque Web site that the film version of his canceled Fox TV show Firefly has been pushed back to Sept. 30, 2005, from its original April 22 opening date.Quoth Joss, in part:April got crowded with a lot of titles aimed at a similar demographic, and the studio decided September was a clearer corridor for the film to make the kind of impact it should. This isn't about a lack of confidence in the film -- in fact, they told me this before they even saw it. And now they have seen it, and unless they're way better liars than I'm used to, they dug it. Actually, they dug it pretty large, which is a good sign since there's not a single finished effect in the film. There's no reworking the end, no reshoots, no "does it have to be in space?". It's just a marketing issue.Article here, post by Joss here.

SHUT UP, DAWN! [23 Oct 2004|03:26am]
That rocked. There was singing, and dancing, and a giant bunny, and dry cleaning... and we got seats in the front row. My neck is going to be sore tomorrow, and "Hush" may turn out to have foreshadowed the state of my voice (especially after the scream ending "Dawn's Lament"), and it was cold outside, and I don't care. That was totally worth it.Thanks to those of you I met at the LB at the start of the night... you made this a lot of fun! For everybody who couldn't make it this time (you were missed, Gillian!), they'll be doing it again in a few months. You'll wanna be there.( Instruction sheet for the screeningCollapse )

Once More With Feeling at the Coolidge [16 Oct 2004|09:29pm]
[ **mood** | lethargic ] So... the singalong screening of "Once More With Feeling" (not to mention "Hush") at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline is this coming Friday night. I've been looking forward to this. :-)With that said... while getting there is easy (take the Green Line C train), this starts at midnight, so I'm guessing it'll finish around 2:00 A.M., which is after the Green Line stops running. I'm not clear about how viable the Night Owl bus service option is, never having taken it from there. For those of us who live at or near the Emerson campus, any thoughts on how best to get home?
