Al-Ahly Benghazi, the representative of Libyan basketball, opened its campaign in the Elite 16 qualifiers for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) finals with a well-deserved 85–68 victory over Gabon’s Moanda basketball team. The match took place today, Tuesday, as part of Group B in the tournament hosted by Cape Verde.

The game was rescheduled from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Libya time) due to the late arrival of the Gabonese team. However, this did not affect Al-Ahly Benghazi’s readiness, as they entered the match with great confidence and performed well from the start.

The Libyan team came into the game carrying the hopes of their fans after their impressive performance in the Round of 32 held in Mali, where they were crowned champions of that stage and earned qualification to the Elite 16 phase.

The players delivered a balanced team performance with high fighting spirit and strong tactical discipline, allowing them to secure a clear 17-point victory while maintaining dominance throughout all quarters of the game.
