I am a retired mathematics professor (50 year teaching career). My Erdos number is at most six. I am an avid amateur classical musician, a go player, and a philologist. I have published many translations from Japanese into English. I live in Greenfield, Massachusetts. I am fortunate to own two instruments made by Douglas Cox, viola opus #154 and violin opus #557.
