ærgi n (genitive singular ærgis, plural **ærgi or ærgir)
- a pasture for cattle to graze over the summer with a hut where the people tending them live meanwhile; a shieling, saeter
- Because of dialectal variation, when in compounded placenames, this word is sometimes spelled as pronounced in that area, thus the existence of both the form Argisá and Ergisá. On modern maps, these are spelled Ærgisá.
