Giant 150-meter hose washes up as debris in Japan seaside town (original) (raw)
KANAZAWA, Japan - A giant hose measuring roughly 150 meters in length has washed up as debris along the rocky Sea of Japan coast in Shika, Ishikawa Prefecture, local government officials said Thursday.
The hose, which was likely used for dredging work, is estimated to weigh 300 tons and has a diameter of about 2 meters at its widest section. While there is marking on the hose indicating the name of a Chinese company, it remains unclear who owns it, they said.
