Open house schedule

The Office of the President will be closed to visitors on April 9 (Wed.), 10 (Thurs.), and 17 (Thurs.) due to maintenance work in the exhibition area. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Starting February 15, 2025, the Presidential Office will temporarily suspend its monthly Designated Holiday Tours due to operational reasons. Further information regarding the reopening will be announced at a later date. Weekday Tours will remain open as usual. We welcome you to visit.

Notices:

1. Presidential Office tours are free of charge and we welcome all visitors.
2. Individual tours (for groups of fewer than 15 people): No online reservation is required. Please line up at the designated entrance for a security check before entry.
3. Group tours (for groups of 15 people or more): Please make an online reservation at least three business days in advance (not counting the day of the visit, the day the reservation is submitted, and any weekends or holidays).

Visitor rules

• The Presidential Office is open to visitors for Designated Holiday Tours on selected weekends and national holidays and for Weekday Tours on weekday mornings.
  • 1. Designated Holiday Tours:
    * (1) For more information on Designated Holiday Tours, please visit our website’s Tour Schedules section.
    * (2) Visitors can access the following areas: Main Entrance; Entrance Hall; Reception Hall; South and north courtyards; 1st floor exhibit areas and the corridor.
  • 2. Weekday Tours:
    * (1) Weekday Tour schedule: Working Mondays to Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Visitors must arrive by 11:30 a.m. to be admitted.
    * (2) Maximum number of visitors: To preserve the integrity of this national historic site and ensure high-quality tours, the maximum number of visitors for each hour is 200.
    * (3) Application: Group tours of 15 visitors or more require reservations at least three working days in advance. Please make your reservations via fax or our website. For individuals or groups of under 15, no advanced booking is necessary.
    * (4) Registration: The leader or contact person of a visiting group should submit a roster and register before the visit. All visitors must carry a photo ID and register to enter the building.
    * (5) Weekday Tour access: 1st floor exhibit areas and the corridor.
    * (6) If you have any questions, you may contact us between 09:00-16:00, Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).
  • 3. Special Tours: Organizations or groups may submit a group visitor application to seek permission to visit during hours not usually open for tours. An official application for a special visit must be submitted by the applicant organization at least three weeks prior to the proposed visit date. Such a visit must be for the purpose of cultural exchange or academic research, and must not be profit-seeking in nature. The application is subject to review and approval by the Presidential Office. After an application has been approved, we reserve the right to cancel permission due to official business at any time prior to the day of the visit, or to arrange for an alternate visit date.
• Individual and guided group tours available:
  • 1. Individual tours
    * (1) Visitors may line up at the designated entrance and freely access open areas after entering the building.
    * (2) Audio tour guide devices are available free of charge with a valid ID. One device per person.
  • 2. Guided group tours: The maximum number of visitors is 120 per hour.
    * (1) On-line reservations: Visitors can reserve guided group tours on-line, with a maximum of 90 visitors per hour. If less than 90 visitors make reservations, the remaining openings will be available for on-site reservations.
    * (2) On-site reservations: Visitors can register and reserve a guided group tour on site, with a maximum of 30 visitors per hour.
    * (3) Visitors are required to submit a valid ID to borrow free audio tour guide devices.
• Visitors must comply with the following guidelines:
  • 1. Visitors are allowed to take photographs within open areas. However, when the area is crowded, visitors should move on after taking the photo. No video recorders, video cameras, luggage, or oversized packages are permitted inside the building at any time.
  • 2. When entering the building, visitors are required to show a valid ID and complete a security check.
  • 3. When touring the building, please moderate your voice level. Do not loiter or trespass into restricted areas. No signs, flags, or any dangerous objects are permitted.
  • 4. When entering the building, please do not engage in activities unrelated to the purpose of the visit.
  • 5. When there is reason to believe that an individual or a group applying to visit intends to use the visit as a pretext for some other purpose—such as presenting a petition, making a complaint, or staging a protest—we may reject the application. If a visitor violates visiting rules after entering the building, we may ask the visitor to leave the premises immediately, or conduct necessary check and control measures in accordance with Article 12 of the Special Service Act.
  • 6. Please dress appropriately and carry as little as possible into the building. Pets, food, smoking, betel nuts, and chewing gum are prohibited inside the building.
  • 7. Please take good care of the audio tour guide devices. Visitors will be held liable for any loss of or damage to devices.
  • 8. Please wear earphones when using an audio tour guide device or mobile phone to listen to the exhibition commentary. If any visitor violates this rule, adversely affecting other visitors, and disregards a request to use earphones, the Presidential Office may require that visitor to return the audio tour guide device and leave the building.
  • 9. Scheduled tours are subject to suspension if they coincide with a national holiday or natural disaster. Tours may also be suspended in case of building renovation or construction, or major special events. Suspensions and reopening information will be announced on our website.
  • 10. Tour buses that transport group visitors may temporarily park around the building for passenger drop-off and pick-up, and should otherwise be parked at the designated site. After exiting the bus, visitors may proceed to the designated entrance and line up to enter.
