The pulse scattering on the spiral notch does not prevent its partial recoupling in WGM.

The Sonogashira and Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reactions of N-alkoxyimidoyl bromides produced versatile ketoxime ethers in good to excellent yields. A one-pot reaction of the imidoyl bromides with arylboronic acid and allylmagnesium bromide to produce N-arylamines via Suzuki-Miyaura coupling followed by domino reaction involving sequential addition-eliminative rearrangement-addition reactions was developed.

Investigation on the coexistence of different mode types together with experimental verification of the applicability of certain methods of numerical calculations was done. A good match is shown between calculated and experimentally obtained emission diagrams of whispering gallery-like modes.

These resonators behave like electromagnetic billiards with classical chaotic dynamic and dielectric boundary conditions. Comparisons of experiments, models and simulations show remarkable agreements between geometrical and wave approaches.

Photolithography and plasma etching processes are used to obtain the laser microcavities composed of a passive polymer doped with an active laser dye. These microlasers are essential in the study of open wave chaos physics for integrated optics applications.

One part of the structure is a long fiber optic feedback loop acting as a delay line. Different techniques have been introduced such as multiple loops in order to get very narrow spectral lines and large mode spacing. One of the problems due to long fiber loops is the size and the requirement of temperature control. In order to go toward integrated solutions it is also possible to introduce optical resonators instead of a delay line structure (as for classical electronic oscillators). But such resonators should present very high quality factor. In this paper we demonstrate solutions using resonators based on polymer materials such as PMMA-DCM. Structures such as micro-rings, micro-disks or stadium-shaped resonator have been realized at the laboratory. Quality factor of 600...
Radially-polarized surface plasmon microscopy for sensitive detection of nanometric-sized fluorescent spheres and nonlinearly active nanocrystals

For optical microscopy, SPR phenomena may be taken advantage of to increase the signal- to-noise ratio so as to benefit to the spatial resolution in imaging applications. This paper presents a demonstration performed by scanning over a few scattering sources of sub micrometer size. In order to get a higher sensitivity studies for nanoparticles, a new development of radially polarized surface plasmon microscopy with two detection channels for linear reflection and epifluorescence, as well as a modulation detection scheme based on an annular disc, is reported.

Little attention has been paid to nonlinear optical microcavities whereby a prerequisite for quadratic effects is an in-plane transverse non-centrosymmetric orientation of the active part. We therefore propose optical poling as a more suitable means to induce such a configuration to a dye-grafted polymer medium than the traditional electric field thermal poling.
