Abstract
This chapter explores focus group data collected with young men, trans/masculine and non-binary people, focusing on their thoughts about trans/masculine and non-binary pregnancy in general, in addition to focusing on participants’ own views about possible pregnancy in the future. The chapter explores how young men, trans/masculine and non-binary people negotiate with highly regulatory accounts of trans men and pregnancy that appear in the media, and how such accounts shape their own views on possible gestational parenthood in the future. The chapter situates media accounts as viewed by participants alongside other participant concerns about climate change and reproduction, potential discrimination and reproduction, and how gestational pregnancy speaks to experiences of gender and identity. Finally, the chapter explores how participants understand reproductive justice for trans/masculine and non-binary people into the future, and the changes needed to ensure access to reproductive rights for all.
