Abstract

The design problem of a fuzzy logic control system is equivalent to a multi-modal multi-dimensional optimisation problem. In the context of optimal designs, such a design problem is usually “unsolvable” by analytical or conventional numerical means. This Chapter develops a genetic algorithm based soft computing paradigm for design automation, which efficiently reveals optimised system parameters and structures in a uniform manner without compromising to a fixed architecture.
