Anne French graduated as a veterinary surgeon from University College Dublin and spent several years in small animal practice in the UK and as a lecturer in Small Animal Internal Medicine in Zimbabwe before specializing in Veterinary Cardiology. She completed a residency in cardiology at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh and spent several years working there as a lecturer/ senior lecturer in small animal cardiopulmonary medicine before joining the University of Glasgow as a senior clinician in September 2012. In 2015 she was appointed as Professor of Veterinary Cardiology, Head of the Division of Small Animal Clinical Sciences and Director of the Small Animal Hospital. In 2015 she was appointed as Professor of Veterinary Cardiology, Head of the Division of Small Animal Clinical Sciences and Director of the Small Animal Hospital. Anne obtained her Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Diploma in Veterinary Cardiology in 1997, European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (companion animals) Diploma in Cardiology in 2003 and completed a PhD in mucosal immunity in 2008. Anne is also a visiting Professor of Veterinary Cardiology at University College Dublin. She has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally and is interested in all aspects of cardio-respiratory disease in dogs and cats. She has broad research interests and has publications relating to mucosal immunity, echocardiography, interventional cardiology, myxomatous mitral valve disease and methods of screening for cardiac disease.
