Abstract

Describes trials to kill E. dichromophloia and prevent it from suckering, using 2% 2, 4, 5-T butyl ester in diesel oil (with and without the penetrant dibutyl phthalate) applied as basal or waist-high bark sprays, and as basal or waist-high frill sprays. The only treatment that gave a satisfactory kill (92%) was the basal frill treatment without the penetrant. No benefit was obtained from adding the penetrant.
