dancewithtrains: Attention Fanfic writers! Wanna get published? :D

I'm not sure who still watches this comm (since the last entry is from sometime in 2009) but I thought I'd still try. :)

I apologize if this is against the rules, but I just wanted to make an announcement to as many people as I could. I am trying to start a literary journal for just fanfiction, and I would like to make a call for submissions anywhere I can.

Details are

here

, in my journal.

I plan for it to eventually become a legitimate publication, but right now I just need help getting it off the ground. Thanks to anyone who's interested!

pyrrhical: [FIC] Fleeting, Murtagh/Eragon, PG-13

Title: Fleeting
For: Ashley
Fandom: The Inheritance Series, by Christopher Paolini
Character(s): Murtagh/Eragon, Saphira, Thorn
Prompt: "Once more with ninjas."
Rating: PG-13
Words: 3,027
Notes: Day two of my 25 Days of Christmas challenge, written for Ashley. I honestly didn't think I could write Murtagh/Eragon without it being dark, but I tried my damnedest. Also, uhm, spoilers for

Eragon

and

Eldest

, but not for

Brisingr

. You can kind of "Timeline, What Timeline?" this fic, but just pretend there's more time between

Eldest

and

Brisingr

and stick it there, okay?
Table Link: Here.

( Eragon had taken as late to soliloquizing on long flights )

chadni98: If you like Eragon...

So, everyone here likes Eragon, right? Stupid question, right? But I read a book that's almost as good. It's called The Dragonriders of Pern. It was seriously amazing. I'm sorry. I just had to post this up here. BTW, I was wondering, you know how when dragons mate their feelings spill over to their riders? What happens if it's two riders of the same gender? Is there a spell to block it out or something? I may or may not have missed it. I can't remember much of the second book. By the way, does anyone know how to pronounce Bjartskular?

loveless_686: Book #3-Brisingr

It's coming out this year in september. I am so excited. I found out last night. It is supposed to have a gold dragon on it (Glaedir). I found out from Wikipedia. This might not be true, so check the official site.

Newbie here, with a fanfic.

I've never written a fic for Eragon before - and I certainly never planned to be writing one as epic as this is going to be.

The original idea for this came from me being a bit freaked out by the idea of Saphira being the mother of an entire species. Paolini had some good ideas, but frankly, that freaked me out. You need more genetic diversity than that for a species to thrive (Yes, I know it's fantasy, but it still bothered me). How that idea became this enormous fic, I still do not know.

Fic is here: Riders of Burhar

Enjoy the ride, guys, and please give me feedback!

Template is a city, no different, no worse, nor better, than any other.

The problems surrounding it are the same as any other city, with care thrown to politics, poverty, crime, education, taxes, and the source of the city's income.

But the problems extend beyond that, in a city that unknowingly exists on three different levels, and has no history, only a future. The city verges on the edges of enlightenment and those who are left behind, destined to know nothing of the city's true turmoil. An enlightened citizen begins a new life, granted access to the second level of Template, the digital level.

The third is still a mystery, but its existence is ingrained into the very beings of the enlightened.

The enlightened are joined by others, pulled from their homes, bonded to the city. Marked and unmarked, confused, and forced to adjust to the city and the powers that be, the powers pulling the strings. What is the ultimate purpose?

Only Template knows.
