Pretty much find a non-US form of payment. So we'll see how much of my LJ breaks here in a few weeks.
I need to do a hard overhaul anyway, as I've now got a good chunk of tags I don't really feel comfortable having anymore. Will have to figure out some renames or merge them into new tags or something.
In other better news - which is really only relevant to the few HiHers who may see this: THERE WAS AN EXPANSION(ish) GAME FOR OREGON TRAIL.
I 100% just wanted to get a second game, for more cards, to make a possible revisit of Discord OT a little more exciting [READ: Let

Someone in NY had both listed on ebay for less than the cost of a new copy. [dances in the wagon]

And for a Monday... it was kinda Monday.
Put in a support ticket - though I'm mostly certain I already know the answer - regarding account renewals on the US side. I'm forever jealous of bizarra having been here so long the account is permanent. I should have found the $50 that one year, when they were being sold. Alas.. hindsight and all that.
Anyway.. probably is a time to go through and edit down the icons, anyway, being that I rarely used 60% of the selection as it is.
I had this great plan during the 2020 shutdown to finally sit down and clean up the shitshow of a mess Photobucket made and here were are midway through October of 2024 and I've done... ZILCH.
So many things I should be doing; so many grand plans I had for keeping the LJ updated and well.. you can see just how active I've been. [facepalm]
Anyway.. hope y'all are well and I love all your faces and Please God, can we just get through the next two weeks without any more historical events except for maybe just one that I really wouldn't mind living through after everything the last 10 years....
I voted last week, so now all I can do is wait and watch. And maybe start drinking...

So.. for someone who is on LJ/DW almost daily, you’d think I’d be better at posting now and then. [facepalm icon here]
No internet at work, so posting from the phone. Milton rolled through Wednesday night/Thursday morning and made A RACKET. Trademark and all. Spent most of yesterday trying to sleep off the pressure headache and back at work this morning. Mostly going to just file stuff, but lord it’s going to be a long day with no MST3K as background noise.
If you were in Milton’s path, I hope you fared well; if you were in Helene’s, I hope the same -she made landfall even closer to mom and dad than the last two. They’re both fine; what few trees were left got a free trim, etc
All in all… Florida. [eyeroll]

hands down
the best Trek ever to Trek.
Obviously, if you don't have Netflix access, this may be difficult. But, seriously.
I now return you to you regularly-scheduled radio silence because I have clearly forgotten how to LJ/DW....
Also I've been living in a Red vs Blue rabbit hole and have only come up for air for S2 but also promptly will go back in to Blood Gulch with little trouble LOL

Y'all. I can't even. Some bullet points because my long story short list ended up being LONG
+ I made the mistake of starting Drain the Oceans on Disney+ and ended up plotting an entire new OCverse and it's going to get written about as quick as everything else that's been plotted in the last three years. [see icon]
+ I made the mistake of rebinge-ing (how do you even spell that?) Red vs Blue s1-5 and then spending about $100 on itunes for s6-17 (minus the one that isn't available, but that's okay because it's a side-plot and doesn't seem to affect much of the main arc) and have spent the last week having my heart broken again and again and I just need to find Caboose and give him a hug. For his benefit and my own. [see icon]
+ The TARDIS showed up at Disney, LAST WEEK, and I got to hug her. Twice. It was kind of epic.

+ The weather sucks. It's too hot; it's too humid; and I have a headache all the time. [see icon]
+ The Lifeguard has an interview tomorrow; had an interview this morning; and had an interview on Friday. His luck.. he'll end up with three offers to have to narrow to one. One of them is back here, near Disney. Because the universe is ironic as a brick. [see icon]
+ There's a gaming convention happening here in Sept and two of the stars of DesiQuest will be attending. I was going to go, just for them.. and the next day Felicia Day was announced. I need to swing by the comic shop by work and find out what the 'discount' is (if any) before I buy the weekend pass.
+ I have zero oomph to work on any quilts or crochet projects. Yet I have bought a LOT of fabric and yarn. [see icon]
+ I need to figure out how to screencap from iTunes. Because now I want to make Red vs Blue icons, etc... More than just a random Print Screen, that is. Maybe I should just invest in some encoding software. Because investing in the OBS software for recording sewing projects has gone SO WELL. [see icon]
+ mostly life is just a constant [see icon]

Seriously, it's been a WTF kind of month.
Long story very short: Brother got a job in Cincinnati. Movers came Saturday (unexpectedly, but it lit the fire under his ass); mom and dad came down Saturday, and Dad came down again, this morning, for the rest of what didn't go with movers (or wasn't going to).
I am in massive amounts of pain. And managed 47 flights of stairs on Saturday alone. The irony being that the watch has never accurately tagged flights of stairs in the 4-5 years I've had it? LOL
Anyway... one more week of tax hell (until the post-season tax hell begins, anyway)... but with him employed and (fingers crossed) the annual raise coming with this next paycheck, I might be able to breathe a little easier and catch up on the credit card and relax a little bit. (and get into posting and creating things again)
For sure, though, this weekend has made me realize just what kind of cluster bizarra and I are going to be in, should our rent go up again, this year. So I'm going to have to actively start decluttering/organizing.
Anyway... hope y'all are well on this Rex Manning Day. Don't look at the sun. Love all your faces. ♥

Dad's on his way to the hospital via ambulance. Third time since Jan 01.
And on top of all this, not-boss returns to Florida from eight months in Montana tonight (probably in a landing pattern, if they haven't landed already), and that means that starting tomorrow, I have to deal with all three of them again (boss, not-boss, and lawyer on the other side of the building). The racist BS already started up today; once all three of them are together, it'll be the rest of the FOX News-level BS that I'll have to listen to.
So, yeah... I'm in for a great Thursday.

Who knew....
Before yesterday, I was NOT AWARE there was a Wizard of Oz museum in Florida. Even then.. I would have laughed at you, had you said it was in Cocoa Beach, of all places.
But, here we are.
The Lifeguard found out about it via some friends and planned a whole trip out there, yesterday. I didn't even know where we were going until we got there.. which, let me tell, triggered everything because I am not the kind of person who just wings it.
Link to some photos over on Instagram, because I don't have it in me right now to transfer the photos from the phone; resize; and upload etc. [glares at Photobucket in disappointment]
They had the Tin Man board game I have on display, not to mention quite a few collectibles I have in my possession. It wasn't a terrible layout, but the Museums student in me was having to behave and not critique the display. They have A LOT of stuff.. and A LOT of first editions. Even one full set for sale, for $25,000 <-- pocket change, y'know. o.O Some items triggered some ideas, so maybe Steve will actually want to play in 2024..........
It took us longer to drive out there and back, than we spent inside, but it was fun. Will definitely have to coordinate a field trip with bizarra and gatechic...
All for now, as I need to pretend to work this dreary Monday morning...

So... 2023 was a bit of a bust.

I still have a few days of the November challenge to work on. But by the end of 2023 I was just tired. And I'm a few days late into 2024.. but it's already started with a bit of drama and just.. OY.
Anyway... I'm really hoping I can get back into some writing or icons, this year. I might even try recording a few YouTube videos in an effort to maybe hit the go live button on Twitch? Maybe. We'll see. The procrastination is still

"Barbenheimer": "Barbie" or "Oppenheimer" and why? by itsanonyx
I saw Barbie opening weekend (I'm pretty sure.. it might have been the next week) with bizarra and The Lifeguard. I enjoyed the Hell out of it, honestly. Especially the Deadpool-style aside from Helen Mirren about some very specific casting. XD And OMG the 'NSync line from Will. [ dying ]
The Lifeguard seems to have been the one who took the biggest emotional hit, there.. which was odd. But, hey...
In all, I don't know that I'd agree that Ryan is a shoo-in for an Oscar nomination, but he did knock Ken out of the park. Simu, as well. Honestly, I loved all the Kens. I could stand more Kens. Even Allen.
I LOVED the sets and the colors. And all the throwbacks to random outfits (I have the figure skater outfit!) and Barbies of yore. And the fact that Mattel was willing to throw all that shade at themselves was [ chef's kiss ] OMG I almost forgot about the Mattel bleep. XD
I also loved the plot twist of just how the walls were breaking down and I kinda oddly felt.. seen? It's hard to explain. I imagine Margot will get the Oscar nomination, but Jesus, America Fererra.. ♥
As for Oppenheimer.. it wasn't even going to be on my radar, regardless of the weekend it came out. Manhattan was a chore to get through, and as much as I love a good historical-based movie.. I just don't care. I'd rather read about that part of US history or watch a History Channel/Nat Geo-style program.
I get that Nolan is a genius filmmaker, etc.. but the only one of his I can really sit through is Interstellar, and even that one has me wanting to skip scenes, at times. I just prefer a bit more action-action in my movie-watching, versus drama-action. (also I've heard there was a LOT of nudity, and I'm just not into seeing anyone naked, if I can help it.)

The next holiday up is Thanksgiving. Usually, I've always gone to my parents' house for the weekend, but since we're down a car, I'm going to stay home this year. I have a quilt project that needs to get worked on for moonys_autumn/naturalbluicons and currently have some OOMPH to do just that, so I'll make sure to get some food in the fridge and hopefully get some sewing done.
Also, this means it'll be the first year I'll ever be able to watch Turkey Day from MST3K, so that will be fun.

Honestly, I'd be good with having all my bills paid. Not like ALL of them, for always.. just the current ones. Really, just the one. Not even the entire bill. Part of it would be awesome, to bring down the balance a little bit. We love you Stig. You were worth the bill, even though it ended up being a lost cause.
And, y'know.. God damn world peace. Or just enough world peace for US banks allowing payments into Russia so I can have my icons back. I'll take a stab at which Christmas miracle will happen sooner.. [eyeroll]
