What does it take to put on an unforgettable event? Our VP of Marketing, Alissa Santoro, the mastermind behind our recent 'Mystery & Magic' North American launch party, shares her inspiration for creating our elevated brand experience. Define Your Objectives 📝 Like any marketing initiative, go into your event with a clear set of goals and objectives. Whether brand awareness, customer or employee engagement, media coverage, or lead generation, know in advance what you hope to accomplish so you can organize relevant activities and ensure stakeholder alignment. Events are a big investment, so it's important everyone internally is on the same page in terms of KPIs and desired outcomes. Our launch party was EXTE's first formal introduction to this key market, so we knew we wanted to create an unforgettable experience that would excite employees and foster deeper relationships with both current and prospective clients. Create a Cohesive Brand Experience 🎨 Ensure every element of the event reflects your brand’s identity and messaging. From invitations and decor to menus and custom cocktails, maintain a consistent theme that aligns with your company and event ethos. A personal favorite element of mine was the custom EXTE color-changing cups -- a nod to 90s nostalgia, the cups started frosted white and turned EXTE orange when hit with cold liquid, a small, but fun way to lean into our branding while also touching on the ‘magic’ aspect of the night. Most importantly for us, however, was to pick a venue that aligned with our concept and one that would set the tone for evening. The Club Car at the McKittrick Hotel in Chelsea was the perfect backdrop to inspire an air of mystery and magic. Our pops of orange and purple, interspersed among the whimsical and historic setting, created a perfect celebratory Mischief Night aura. Even if it was a “corporate” event, I was able to lean into our theme and offer up some fun, engaging and unique elements. Engage Attendees with Meaningful Interactions 🪄 Instead of post-event swag that your guests are -- let's be honest -- likely to throw away, focus instead on creating an immersive experience that aligns to your event's theme. For us, that started at the front door -- a line down the street built anticipation upon arrival, followed by an intimate guided elevator ride to our private event space. Guests were greeted with champagne, a custom menu of spookily delicious top-shelf cocktails, one of the city's best magicians and a tarot card reader. I still hear from our attendees about how blown away they were by these thoughtful and unexpected elements. The memories and brand resonance will surely last longer than an EXTE-branded pen and keep guests buzzing for the foreseeable future. As the last quarter of 2024 begins, brands are gearing up to capitalize on the increase in consumer spending driven by key events like #BlackFriday and holiday shopping, a period when digital advertising investment intensifies significantly. According to a report by eMarketer, global digital advertising will grow by 13.2% this year, fueled by increased online shopping and more screen time. Plácido Balmaseda del Campo, CEO of EXTE in Spain and Portugal, highlights the importance of consumer-tailored digital strategies and channels like mobile and CTV, which are crucial during this peak shopping season. “Interactive videos are a highly effective tool for boosting conversion rates. By providing a more immersive, user-tailored experience, these videos allow people to learn beyond the ad itself, helping them make more informed decisions. This simplicity in interaction significantly increases conversion rates compared to other content types,” explains Balmaseda, emphasizing how brands can strengthen engagement and loyalty by adapting formats and content to each stage of the consumer journey.
