In this investigation a structural analysis is carried out by means of the finite element method ... more In this investigation a structural analysis is carried out by means of the finite element method carried out on a CPV (Coastal Patrol Vessel) type vessel that is subjected to a slamming load. In addition to this, the structural design was applied following the Germanicher Lloyd (GL) High Speed Craft Regulation, likewise the slamming loads were executed according to what this regulation contemplates along the length of the boat. The geometry modeling was done using CAD software, later by using a commercial finite element simulation package (ANSYS) the respective analysis was carried out, for this an appropriate boundary condition is previously defined, the distributions of stresses and deformations throughout the structure. Finally, these results were compared with the acceptance criteria of the GL Classification House.
