The Far Hills Race Meeting has donated $100,000 to Atlantic Health’s Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown from proceeds of its annual Flurry at Moorland Farm shooting competition.

The Flurry at Moorland Farm, held May 7, is an annual skeet-shooting event that has raised more than $250,000 since its launch in 2020. What began as a small gathering of family and friends now draws more than 250 shooters.

The Far Hills Race Meeting Association, over more than a century of hosting an annual steeplechase in October, has contributed more than $22 million to health care providers and first responders in Central Jersey.

Members of the Far Hills Race Meeting Association recently presented an $100,000 check to representatives of Atlantic Health's Goryeb Children's Hospital.

The $100,000 gift will support the Far Hills Race Meeting Association Pediatric Patient Support Fund at Goryeb Children’s Hospital. The fund helps families cover expenses such as transportation, medications not covered by insurance, rent, food and other bills during a child’s hospitalization or serious illness.

“In just seven years, the Flurry has grown beyond anything we imagined,” said association Chairman Ron Kennedy. “This commitment ensures families can focus on their child’s recovery, not financial stress.”

Beneficiaries of the association’s charitable efforts include RWJ University Hospital Somerset and the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department and First Aid Squad. Sponsors of this year’s Flurry included Open Road Auto Group, Vollers Inc., Whiting-Turner, TJS Automotive, Unity Bank and Dallas Group.
