It was a night of glitz and glam Saturday, June 6, as partygoers attended the party of the year at the Robinson Film Center (RFC).
RFC hosted its annual Robbys Gala on Saturday. This year's theme was Science Fiction in Cinema. Attendees arrived in their best cocktail attire and sci-fi-inspired costumes as they danced, sang and enjoyed lively cocktails.
The Robbys is RFC's biggest fundraiser of the year and hails the best karaoke in downtown Shreveport.
Executive Director of the Robinson Film Center Wendell Riley said, "It's a celebration of not only the Robinson Film Center, but hopefully it's a way for us to show our supporters the impact of what they do throughout the year."

This year's Robbys had about 150 people in attendance. These attendees were able to enjoy the large karaoke room, clips from beloved sci-fi movies, bars and dancing with an enthusiastic DJ.
"We try to provide an experience where different people who want different things can enjoy and engage with us in different ways," Riley said.
RFC was a dream that began in 2002 when a group of Shreveporters decided that the area needed a world class film center, where locals could support the art of cinema. In 2008, that dream became a reality following Hurricane Katrina and many tribulations.
Now 24 years later, RFC is still thriving and providing entertaining opportunities to the community through film and events. Riley said, "The Robinson Film Center is just about bringing that love of cinema to our community."
