VC Fair's grandstand lineup puffs out with EDM star Marshmello (original) (raw)

Electronic dance music star Marshmello will perform at the Ventura County Fair on July 30.

The DJ and record producer who wears a trademark helmet resembling a marshmallow attracted 20,000 people to an April show in Las Vegas. He scored more than 2.6 billion Spotify streams with the hit “Happier.” His given name is Chris Comstock, and he’s collaborated with artists such as Pink, Sting, Jelly Roll, Selena Gomez and Bastille on “Happier.”

Marshmello's performance, announced on May 26, completes a grandstand lineup for the Ventura seaside fair that runs from July 29 to Aug. 9. The eight shows, the same number as last year, include:

Dia de la Familia starts in the afternoon. The other grandstand shows begin at 7:30 p.m. with gates opening at 5 p.m. for a pre-party. All of the acts are free with admission to the fair. People can also purchase VIP tickets that will bring them seats closer to the stage and other amenities. VIP tickets start at $39 and go on sale online on May 27.

There will be no grandstand show on Aug. 6. The rodeo will be held the last three days of the fair with shows at 7 p.m. on Aug. 7, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Aug. 8 and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Aug. 9. Rodeo tickets are 10forpeople13andolderand10 for people 13 and older and 10forpeople13andolderand8 for children ages 3 to 12. Kids younger than 3 are free. They go on sale starting May 27.

Online ticket prices for the fair include fees and are 16.45foradults,16.45 for adults, 16.45foradults,11.45 for seniors 65 and older and $11.45 for children 6 to 12. Kids 5 and younger are free. For more information on the fair, go to venturacountyfair.org.
