This was specially so in the restaurant business where physical lockdown and social distancing norms were challenging. Thus, small business performance was a concern (Akpan, Udoh, & Adebisi, 2020). This case study addressed this theoretical aspect. Zhang, Gerlowski, & Acs (2021) had highlighted the challenges of business continuance and enterprise sustenance, during the COVID-19 pandemic. This case study provided insights regarding how these aspects of business continuance and enterprise sustenance were addressed by “Café Tato”. Bhattacharyya and Thakre (2021) had deliberated regarding how firms through strategic initiatives and tactical responses were required to manage COVID-19 pandemic and economic lockdown. Café Tato case study was in line with these recommendations for firms. Barbieri et al. (2020) and Reardon et al. (2021) had outlined steps regarding maintaining business operations reliance given a business crisis situation like during the COVID-19 pandemic. Café Tato case study described this. Café Tato case study accommodated perspectives regarding business crisis situation, business continuance, enterprise sustenance, operations reliance, organizational strategic versus tactical initiatives and finally small business performance. Research methodology The teaching case study was written based upon primary data collected from the owners of Café Tato. Furthermore, secondary data was used for building the case. Case overview/synopsis Café Tato was the most popular and the oldest tea cafés in Goa, India. It had a presence in Panjim and Margaon in Goa. On 24 March 2020 India went into an economic and physical lockdown because of COVID-19 pandemic related crisis. One week down the line on 31 March 2020, Mr Pranav Dhuri (hereby referred as Pranav), one of the owners of Café Tato, was contemplating how to ensure business continuance once there was semi-normalcy restored. What would the initiatives that need to be undertaken was critical for success of Tato the legendary café in Goa was playing in the mind of Pranav. Complexity academic level This teaching case study could be used in the class for strategy planning and implementation in the course of strategic management. This case study could apply for teaching both bachelor’s and master’s students of business management. The case could also be taught to management students for helping them understand how small business firms, while confronting challenges of COVID-19, planned and implemented strategies in the course of strategic management. This study helped strategic management students understand the importance of organization culture in any business as it directly influenced the profitability and sustenance of business. The Dhuri family had all along laid stress on keeping the culture alive by taking various steps at critical times in improvising and maintaining the standards. The study also helped to understand the importance of good leadership and its direct impact on the employees in a crisis situation (COVID-19) work environment and ensure business sustenance.

This paper investigated organizational role stress and the various facets of social support practices exercised through peer, supervisor, manager, family and friends. The sample includes 316 employees from a number of organizations in the Indian software industry. Factor analysis on the ten dimensions of role stress developed by Pareek (1983) was recognized as Heterogeneous Stress, Contingent Stress and Inertia Stress. Regression analysis revealed that social support influenced role stress factor. Results further suggest that both peer support and managers’ support directly influenced role stress factors. The results of this study highlight the need for congenial workplace support systems in the software industry. Implications and suggestions for future research and limitations of the study are also discussed. Keywords: Social support, role stress, software industry, occupational stress.

He/she offers direction, mentorship, career counselling, coaching and introspection; provides feedback and helps in moulding an individual's personality. Given the importance of formal educators and the influence they have in moulding young Indian individuals, there is need for research which can cover this aspect of education. The perception a student has of an ideal educator, the factors influencing behaviour and the role of the educator in shaping the backbone of an individual were the key objectives of our study. MATERIALS AND METHODS This is a descriptive study. Fifty students from the final year MBBS course at Goa Medical College participated in a qualitative study comprising of a one-on-one in-depth personal interview. This study helped to identify different role expectations of students from medical educators, the impact of student's experiences on their current perception of an "Ideal Medical Educator" and the influence of teacher's guidance on various areas of a medical student's life. RESULTS Our study reveals that the notion of a medical educator from the student's perspective evolves over time from being recognised as a mere source of knowledge to being accepted as an all-round facilitator. Qualities appreciated highly by students in a medical educator were approachability, depth of knowledge, communication skills and ability to unleash creativity. CONCLUSION Students seek a facilitator role from teachers in deciding their career path and want them to promote an environment of independent thinking. The findings of this study could provide insight into areas of medical education, which could be positively influenced by a good educator.

Such initiatives add more intangible value (much more than an imagination) to the society than tangible value. It can be easily judged that not only volunteers of this organisation, but also the audiences and families of the people associated with this organisation, directly or indirectly, would have elated. So far their focus has been acapella music and traditional four part harmony music of Goa but in future Acapella can be combined with some musical instruments maintaining the originality. Probably, this can be done in a way where musical instruments are not visible at all. Also, this kind of music is popular in Goa, so initially they shall remain focused in this area only to consolidate their position. At the same time, they shall paricipate in events organised across India and abroad to make this kind of music popular. For Namah, most of the activities have been in year end (December) only, they shall see that they are engaged enough throughout the year.

The franchise model that it pioneered in the industry embraced some real-time practices of human development that were carefully captured through the recruitment strategy, job engagement, training, positive work environment, along with strategic practice of embracing local taste in product that has summoned success. How will Monginis reach out to every Indian? While the franchise model has led to expansion and growth, the company does not wish to sit idly on past laurels, but how should it move ahead? This is an updated case study that touches upon two additional dimensions: 1) getting children to bake a cake program and 2) training intervention and buddy support to the franchisee team.

It uses survey data from 483 respondents representing the private and public banking sectors in Goa, India. Analysis shows that environmental factors, health practices, and demographics such as age, salary, and length of service are strong predictors of reduction in organisational role stress. Also, married couples experience less stress and females are subject to higher stress than males. The study adds to the evidence that environmental, health, and demographics at workplace are potential explanatory variables in finding lasting cures for workplace stress.
