NYC Homeownership Week – “How to Protect What You’ve Built” (original) (raw)
During National Homeownership Month, the Center for NYC Neighborhoods (CNYCN) will launch its annual “NYC Homeownership Week,” a citywide series of free public events focused on helping New Yorkers protect and achieve affordable homeownership.
From June 11-20, homeowners and prospective homebuyers will be able to attend events across all five boroughs covering estate planning, flood preparedness, foreclosure prevention, scam protection, energy affordability, and pathways to buying a home.
As rising housing costs and affordability challenges continue to threaten housing stability, NYC Homeownership Week will connect New Yorkers with trusted resources, expert guidance, and one-on-one support.
Events will take place across all five boroughs, including:
- “How to Protect What You’ve Built,” an estate planning and scam prevention workshop at the Louis Armstrong Museum in Queens.
- “Milkshakes & Homeownership,” offering guidance from the Homeowner Help Desk on how to buy your first home with milkshakes at Julia Jean’s Ice Cream in Manhattan.
- “Stay Cool” Lounge cohosted by the Bronx-Brooklyn Energy Hub Homeowner Help Desk and in partnership with NYSERDA and MOCEJ, on energy-saving tips, and resources for renters and homeowners during hot weather at Sankofa Haus in the Bronx.
