Platinum complexes [PtCl2(L)] L = L1, L2 with symmetrical HP (OCH2CMe2NH)2 (L1) and unsymmetrical... more Platinum complexes [PtCl2(L)] L = L1, L2 with symmetrical HP (OCH2CMe2NH)2 (L1) and unsymmetrical HP(OCMe2CMe2O)(OCH2CMe2NH) (L2) hydrospirophosphorane (HSP) ligands were demonstrated to play a dual role of catalysts and cytotoxic compounds as well. The structure of new complex [PtCl2(L2)] was confirmed by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods, as well as single X‐ray diffraction studies for [PtCl2{P (OCMe2CMe2O)(OCH2CMe2NH2)}]. HSP ligand coordinated to the platinum center in bidentate κ2‐P,NH2 chelating mode of fashion. Both complexes were found to exhibit catalytic activity for Heck cross‐coupling reactions of iodobenzene with substituted styrenes, with good conversion and yield of stilbenes. Moreover, complexes have been applied as excellent catalysts for highly regioselective hydrosilylation of aromatic and aliphatic terminal olefins, and acetylenes terminal and internal as well. On the other hand, the preliminary biological studies revealed that in the presence of foretinib, drug candidate in clinical trials for the treatment of cancer, platinum complexes revealed increased synergistic effect and efficiently decreased the number of viable cells of triple negative breast cancer MDA‐MB‐231 cell line.

The similar trans-tactic copolymers 2 and 3 but with no consecutive vinylsiloxane linkage was also prepared by silylative coupling copolycondensation of DVB with divinyltetra(methyl, ethoxy)disiloxane catalyzed by [Ru(H)(Cl)(CO)(PCy3)2].

Additionally, a novel class of vinylene-arylene linear copolymers with doubledecker silsesquioxane fragments in the main chain is developed. These molecular and macromolecular compounds were synthesized via efficient and highly stereoselective silylative coupling (and copolycondensation) and cross-metathesis (and ADMET) reactions. Scheme 1 Difference in regioselectivity of silylative coupling (SC) and cross-metathesis (CM) reactions of vinylsilanes with olefins.

In the course of a photophysical study, it turned out that such a donor-bridge-acceptor compound displayed three completely different types of emission depending on solvent polarity. The most attractive emission properties were found in acetonitrile in which two broad emission bands were observed. The resolved mechanism of the excited-state processes in acetonitrile was supported by singular value decomposition with self-modeling treatment of time-resolved emission spectra (ns-TCSPC). The data analysis revealed that there were two excited-state processes, that is, charge transfer within styrylcarbazole and electron transfer from styrylcarbazole to pyrene through a silylene bridge that was responsible for a broad dual emission. The general idea of designing compounds that display emission from more than one excited state covering a wide range of the visible spectrum can be a powerful tool in designing new white-light-emitting materials.

The use of an effective palladium catalytic system [Pd(n2-dba)(P(o-tolyl)3)2 ](3) with a K3PO4 base solution allowed us to obtain new, reactive ferrocene olefins which can be used in various applications. In addition, using the stereo-control silylative coupling reaction we received unique new organosilicon trans-vinylene products with a built-in metallocene. GPC graphs; MS mass and NMR spectra, X-ray structure determination. CCDC 974168. For ESI and crystallographic data in CIF or other electronic format see

An efficient synthesis and characterization of several new, conjugated styryl-carbazole compounds... more An efficient synthesis and characterization of several new, conjugated styryl-carbazole compounds functionalized by monovinylsilanes in a stereocontrolled approach is presented. All N-organic derivatives were successfully examined in silylative coupling in the presence of ruthenium-hydride complexes 4 and 5. Furthermore, a novel class of vinylene-arylene linear oligomeric materials with 1,4-bis(dimethylvinylsilyl) naphthalene in the main chain was produced. Both reactions proceed very effectively, stereo-and regioselectively, allowing one to obtain E-isomer derivatives with high isolation yields.

The mechanism of the reaction is discussed.
